I personally would live in Europe, so many things to do and see. Plus you can travel to different countries so much easier. But that's my wanderlust talking.

Life quality is very, very important to me and my home country Switzerland is number 2 or 3 world wide in overall life quality, so I really like it here. It's not the most "interesting" country in the sense that there's not much wild stuff going on but for living it's awesome. Our education system is great, our health system is great, our nature is beautiful and clean, cities are not too big, there's no real poverty, we have direct democracy... there's not much else to wish for. If I couldn't live in Switzerland for some reason, the only other countries I'd want to live in permanently would be Norway, Sweden or Finland. Theoretically, Iceland would also be fine but the winters would be too dark and too cold for my taste.
However, if it was only for a year or two, I could live almost anywhere. I've lived abroad twice so far and both experiences were great.1
