VOTE: Should world borders be opened?

If you cross into another nation's border (without all kinds of paperwork) you'll either be killed or get into serious trouble.

Should this be stopped?

    • We don't have enemies except Islamists and Communists...

  • No. Borders exist to keep the people in the country safe from foreign invaders. Only naive, sheltered people believe that opening the borders would be a good thing and that everybody will be nice to them if they're nice back. That isn't how the world works.

    • We have many enemies, and how do you know who is who? They attack more easily with open borders.

    • who else is our enemy?

  • No. It's the big reason people have lost faith in the EU. It's not going to work on a wider scale.

    • What's wrong with the EU? It's only because of Islamic migrants...

      Not people from the EU

    • It has nothing to do with anyone's religion. Both times free movement has gone to the vote (Switzerland - just free movement 2014, and the UK leaving the EU this year) people have voted against it because when countries like Poland, where the minimum wage is low, can move to a higher wage economy they will. I know I would and I don't hold it against them but the belief that uncontrolled migration from parts of the world are a good idea is foolish. If they world was perfect and everyone's countries had the same living standards then it might work.

The answer is to bring the others up. It's working in the EU, slowly, but the western countries are having problems now as will (Italy's banking system is going to collapse as it stand and Greece... well Google Greece. Then Portugal and Spain have massive unemployment). It's the lowest paid who have suffered from free movement. This was a problem long before the refugee crises.

As for other things wrong with the EU there are many...

  • Hell no. A nation is not a nation without borders.
