  • Provincial. As in a province or small town; often used as a derogatory remark in regards to narrow or small minded views; simple.

    It's in the lyrics of the opening song "Bonjour!" from Disney's "Beauty and the Beast".

    I've always excelled in language arts and reading. Even as a kid watching the cartoon version of the movie, I knew that word was what Belle was saying, but last week watching the new live action version, it occurred to me that I'd never actually looked the word up to learn its meaning.

    I find myself using it a lot these days...
