It made me think about what else we could potentially experience in our lifetime.

I hope to see alien contact for real. Not only that, I hope to be the person who makes it happen. 😄
Also, I feel like the scientists who made the black hole picture possible aren't getting as much credit as they deserve, I feel like they should be at least mentioned whenever we talk about this event. I already expressed my gratitude to them in a question of my own but I'd like to do it again everywhere else this topic comes up. One of those scientists is Dr. Katie Bouman and from what I've read about her, it took her and her team 3 years or so to create the algorithm that helped them get the picture. I wish to be like them someday. 🙂

During my lifetime we will probably
•Reach Mars and begin terraforming
•Reach Proxima Centauri with probes at 40% of the speed of light
•There is a 60% we will discover alien life in the next 80-70 years
•Human engineering will begin and become a reality
•Religion will start falling and will become the minority
•After superior alien life is discovered, humans will realize how stupid we are fighting with each other while the real enemy is out there.
I’ve already seen so much from the moon landings live to the death of JFK ( and yes, I still remember where I was when I heard the news). The first transatlantic programme via Telstar and watching Convirde brighten up the skies. I’m lucky to have seen so much that anything from here on in is a bonus
