A couple times, I guess I don’t really think of it that much though, haha. When I was in junior high my younger neighbor started choking on a piece of zucchini bread and I gave him the probably-incorrect-but-close-enough Heimlich Maneuver. That shit flies out like they said it would in health class lmao, right into a tree. Then I was camping at the Saco River in Maine with my girlfriend at the time and a bunch of other people. My ex-gf’s little sister who was probably 12 starts go under the water and is freaking out and shit. So I ran/swam in to get her, and this almost the story of the time I tried to save a chick from drowning and drowned myself lmfao, cuz she was all panicked and for a minute I thought she was going to push me under. I was able to drag her close enough to where I could get toes on the ground though, so it all worked out. That shit was scary though.
Saved my friend from suicide. She suffered from a painful breakup, on top of being a rape survivor (but hadn’t told anyone). Talked her out of doing it again where she tried before that but couldn’t fully do it. Felt good saving a life.
Yes! I believe I was 17, I saved 2 lives all in one go. I was on life guard duty when this foolish pregnant lady on a kick board was kicking her way into the deep end and slipped off the board and her head sank under water. She was splashing and waving her hands in a panic. I pulled her out of the pool. She didn't know how to swim 😑 Other than that one time... nothing drastic has happened in where I felt heroic. I now simply aid in rehabilitating or maintaining people's health.
I talked to a guy and he told me later he was feeling very depressed when I sent him the encouraging message he neededI prayed for people and they reported being cured of their illnesses afterwardsI also gave money to people who may have died if they were not getting meals sponsored by my donations
Have an opinion?
Yes, I believe I did. This chick that my ex got with after cheating on me with her. She had pretty fucked up problems. My ex asked me to help her since she was about to cut herself because he claims that I was “good” at these stuffs. I talked to her very calmly and convinced her to not cut herself. She did not know who I was and let’s keep it that way. After that, she was a lot happier.
Nothing crazy but when I was lifeguarding this little girl, about two, was in an inner tube with no life jacket no nothing (parents weren’t even there with her). The way she was positioned, she slid through the inner tube so that her feet were caught on the sides of the tube and she was stuck favs down on the water. I jumped in, carried her out and found her parents. But, that’s something most lifeguards encounter so nothing crazy
I've talked a couple of online friends out of suicide before if that counts.
yes. my best friend tried tooverdose and when she told me what she did iwas able to get her to the hospital in time. nows she’s happy and pregnant actually.
God bless you
I saved a few people as a lifeguard but the hardest save was not at work. There was a drunk man stuck in almost freezing cold water inside a cave at the bottom of a straight rock face.
Not that I know of, but someone saved mine. When I was 8 they saved me from drowning
Yes. My dad was choking and I was the only one who heard him. I sprinted up the stairs and helped him. 👍😇
I don't think I have, but people often use me as an outlet to talk about their feelings.
Yes. Furst time was at 19. I still remember his name, too.
Yea I saved around 16 by talking them out of suicide
I helped someone overcome heroin addiction but I'm not sure if that would count.
Not human life, but I saved the life of over 20 cats who were abandoned outside in the summer, and got them to an animal shelter.
I’ve been counseling suicidal people since I was 14.
Yes i have from choking and with 10 gallons of my blood
Yes in a boating accident where she would have died per the doc and also recovering a stranded lost boater in the middle of the ocean in fog.
Possibly indirectly by reporting a massive gas leak.
Also possibly by financially supporting charities helping people in areas affected by famines.
