Have An Opinion?
When the body is no longer capable of continuing the biological process. There are a lot of processes necessary to sustain life. When any of those shut down for any length of time, the entire system shuts down. It's a weird concept. All the same "stuff" is still in the body in pretty much the same arrangement. But there is a threshold. On one side of that threshold the biological process can self sustain and continue. On the other side it can't.Maybe someday science can find one single cell or molecule that died or quit doing it's job, crossing the threshold where the body can no longer self sustain. The start of life is the reverse process. There is a threshold where suddenly you have life.
The generally accepted criterion lately is cessation of brain function and heartbeat. But, if you have a Savior in Jesus, your soul will live oon.
In my opinion, life ends when you simply give up trying.
Sometimes people are not living, they just exist
Sounds like me everyday, I can't lie
What makes you say that?
Feels that way, you know? Just everyday life
For what's worth, it gets better!🙂
I hope so 🥴
In the medical field we deem life to be over when the brain ceases function. When the heart first stops there is a chance to get oxygen and blood flowing artificially, but once the brain ceases ALL other functions cease. Almost any other part of the body can recover.
Hospitals cannot transplant dead organs. Your brain may be dead but at a cellular level most of your organs haven't died yet. The heart can easily be restarted after transplant because it isn't dead. The kidneys are the first to die but the liver goes on for a long time. New research has shown that even the brain shows electrical activity past the point we once considered brain dead, the deceased is said to experience flashes of light and euphoria at this point which may account for the heaven myth.
With artificial life support like a feeding tube, the body can remain alive long after the brain ceases to function. Legally, person is dead when their heart has stopped and resuscitation is determined to be futile or impossible (or unwanted in special cases like terminally ill patients). If the brain is functioning at the onset of cardiac arrest, consciousness will be lost immediately followed by brain death in 5-10 minutes.
I heard of people being brain dead but had a heart beatand they had them on life support and once they removedthem from life support within a few hours sometimes soonerthey pass away. I'm thankful none of my close Family ( Mom,Maternal Grandparents never was on life support ) they passednaturally. I never want be on life support , If i am brain dead iwant be left to pass on to the next life or to Heaven. So myanswer is life ends whatever goes first which is usually the brain.
Depends. I think the clinical is when the brain ceases to respond is when death is confirmed. That or maybe movies have it right and the loss of pulse is death. The body works in unison to keep you alive. Losing any key component can mean death.
Beautiful photo. I have come back to this question a second time, on account of this photo choice.I believe a life ends when revival is not possible, when the body and/or mind does not want to come back. When the person cannot be saved, and is done. It doesn't matter what physical or mental process is at the forefront of this.
Clinical death occurs when you have stopped breathing and your heart stops pumping. At that point it's still possible that you might be revived. Legal death occurs when a physician declares it. If you have no brain activity you could be declared legally dead even if you are still breathing and your heart is still beating.
A person is considered clinically dead when their heart has stopped, however they are still revivable as the organs are still functioning for a short period after death.
Tricky question because if we ask this then we could also relate these answers to the abortion question asked by Ben Shapiro wich is when is it okay to abort, when he the like crossed things like that. But I'm going to answer and say when the heart stops because people check pulses to determine life. But meh I'm 14 take what I say with a grain if sand lol
We never end. Even if one doesn't believe in God and in any form of after life we still exist as particles in the Universe.
That's true. We are all made of matter. Matter can not be created or destroyed. However, it can be transformed into other types of matter.
The answer to that question will continue to change as medicine advances. But the brain is more important than the heart because a heart is just a pump for blood that will likely be possible to replace with a mechanical one. Though your standards of living will be still drastically reduced.
When the brain is dead it's not long and the heart follows usually. But when the heart stops either way, you're pretty much dead.
In a figurative sense for other people we are dead when we become feeling less and heart less. And litterally when heart stops pumping we are physically dead. If brain stops then you are already dead.
I choose to believe it never ends. You're made up of energy, and as far as our understanding of it goes, you cannot destroy energy, only transfer it.
When the person loses all purpose in living. He could be alive physically, but live in hell.
When the brain stops. The heart can be shocked back into action, as can most other issues to arise. When electrical activity stops in the brain then there is nothing can be done
I remember the nurse telling me my Mum hadn't taken a breath in 2 minutes but she still had a very very faint heartbeat but she wasn't breathing so I think maybe when the heart stops
Never. Your soul lives forever. You just drop your body and fly to another world without a body.
In medical consideration it is when the brain has not received oxygen at a certain given amount of time and is considered brain death.
Boppity boop boop
Bumpity bump bump
The moment you tell your girlfriend that she's gaining weight.
Once the body fully shuts down. Nerves stop firing. Blood stops pumping. Lungs stop filling.
When everything has stopped. They aren’t like a machine where if one thing stops working all of it does. Everything has to stop.
When the heart and brain stops that's the end of the physical body but the beginning of the endless spiritual life and journey.
First of all - why death topic is young people head. Don't like that question. But here's the philosophical answer - you're dead when there's no single person on Earth remembered you.
Not, preferably, but I'd say when your blood stops flowing
Whenever you lose your ambitions in life, the life ends for you.Physical death is no important.
When that electricity in your brain completely stops flowing.
I agree with many here, when brain activity ceases is when life ends.
i would say brain as thats the bit that counts... quite literally
when there is no life left in there soul brain or heart they have moved on its sad to keep somone alive when they can't really live a life
Legally when the doctor signs your death certificate
When your slf respect is gone that is the time life ends
A person is considered dead when they are boring af 🤪
There is no such thing as death. We just translate into life eternal or into an eternal separating place away from God.
God does talk about the first death (human bodies) and the second death (spiritual death in Hell).
Yes but in terms of us not existing is how most people view is death and in that, it isn't a such thing.
Death doesn't have to mean fading into oblivion. It simply means that the biological functions of the human body have ceased and the body will be transformed by God/nature into something else. When death is defined this way, it allows other aspects of a person's humanity (such as a soul) to carry on in a spiritual realm. Science can not prove nor disprove that this spiritual realm exists. But you certainly are free to believe in it if you wish and I support your decision to do so.
You are dead once the brain stops producing activity (electrical currents). When your heart stops you can still be resuscitated. Human life begins at the point where the brain activates and life ceases when it deactivates.
Either brain or heart is good enough... if your heart stops your brain isn't far behind
When the brain stops, you get irreversible death, "true" death in a way.
I say when the heart stop becouse iv seen people with brains that didn't work but other organs where functioning but when the heart stoped all the other organs will go.
You die twice. When your heart stops and then when your name is no longer rememberd.
depends if you believe in the afterlife. I personally don't
When you say, "I do." sorry that was too easy. Brain dead is the correct answer.
Clearly, that comes first. :)
at death.. or until your # is called by the man with the bingo balls..
My rules for friendship? Out of site out of mind. And life is determined by your god or worse.
If brain stops no one will die that person go in to coma. If heart stops person definitely die
IF a person is in a coma their brain still operates dude.
