That's very good answer
Note in passing - The "official" language of pilots the world over is English!
We drive on the left because our steering wheels are on the right, completely makes sense we do that, same as Australia and Japan
@AccidentalCompliance That argument says, in essence, "that's the way we've always done it and it would be a bother to change." Same argument for US staying on Imperial measures.
Not really, because all our infrastructure matches, traffic lights, motorway entrance points etc, would be way more expensive to swap sides of the road than just change to metric, could pretty easily slowly integrate metric, like start by swapping weather forecasts etc
@AccidentalCompliance Actually, many factories are tooled entirely imperial and a swap would be very expensive, just like changing all of your roadways. People here are quite accustomed to Imperial units and many would be quite resistant to a switch, just as many in the UK would not want to change to driving on the right hand side. Why doesn't the entire world change to speaking English? Resistance, inertia, and a substantial cost of conversion, and the perception that the benefits of a change don't justify the cost. Same with metric conversion, etc.

I didn't really knew that metrical has something to do with dates. I always used this type 14.8.2020
We weren’t too stupid we just didn’t want it
@Vulvalicker No, you're too stupid.
More like in those days we actually made things in the US and the difficulties in switching industries over to the metric system was costly and difficult. That was the biggest reason and of course some idjuts thought that it would make us a socialist society. Today though It would be much less of a problem. Much of the tech and engineering industry uses metric system anyway. We use metric system on most of engineering projects. It is sooooo much easier than using imperial units.
@Hermes-Paris Americans don’t want it. If we did we’d have it
@Vulvalicker No, American's were too stupid. i saw a documentary about it.
Too stupid? We’re the ONLY superpower and ours is the oldest continuous form of government in the world so I wouldn’t say we’re stupid
@Vulvalicker The average American brain weighs 90.7 dekagrams. That's 453 grams lighter than the average European brain. Try understanding that with your stupid measuring system.
If you’re so smart why aren’t you the leader of the free world?
You really think that US is the only superpower?
Yes we are. Russia and China are great powers not super powers. Do your research. We are superior so think before you spout how stupid someone is
I actually look for Russia to be downgraded to a medium power in your lifetime
US is warmongering nation that seeds chaos everywhere they go. ( Iraq, Syria, Lybia, Vieatnam, Afghanistan and much much more )
China is doing everything it can to become a superpower and with Biden as president they will be. Obama/Biden weakened us so bad that China now has superiority in the China Sea where 25% of the worlds trade occurs but you don’t give a fuck about that do you
Have fun with that
And there's nothing wrong with that. Honestly I don't give a fuk about US elections either way but when I saw the Trump being a sore loser it seems almost comical.
The truth is we got out of wars under Trump
As far as Afghanistan wasn’t it the USSR that invaded them?
Well I don't see any point to continuing this conversation. I don't know what time it is in US but it's nighttime so good night and have a pleasant rest of the day.
Why would I be socialist it's just way more practical and logical than the opposite.
I was playing a right wing nutball. (Waiting for applause)
It's way more practical and logical
