I would say anything that I don't need or have no use for just because it is on sale in a store.

Also, I would never buy a newer model of something I own as long as this piece of equipment is not broken and that the costs of repairing it is higher than the purchase price of a new similar item.

I tend to be totally oblivious to marketing gimmick that want you to buy what you don't need.

My motto is "if it is not broken, don't buy a new one". It has worked pretty well till now.
