Also "That dog won't hunt" for and ineffective argument, "Shiny as a new dime in a goat's butt" for something cherried out like a customized car, "I had a Come to Jesus with him" meaning to have a serious talk with someone, and "The devil is beating his wife" for when its raining but the sun is shining-the rain are her tears, the sun his joy.
