If somebody uses anonymous but does not write anything insulting or criticism do you think that is still cowardly?

It's actually the best to have an anonymous because then it's about what's being said not who saying it. These people who complain about it just are upset they have no argument against what your saying so they have to gaslight you. At the same time many of them think their username makes them special and default right because they may have a few followers who always followed them around saying your right don't matter what that's why it's best to be anonymous because now like a said earlier it's all about what's being said not who is saying it.

No. If you ask a question that is very personal and even embarrassing I wouldn't call that cowardly. I think cowardly implies avoiding responsibility or consequences. No one is expected to share intimate information. I think it's only cowardly to insult someone unless that other person is anonymous too, then it's even ground. I also tend to answer anonymously to anonymous questions. I don't know why but it just feels natural. It feels like if you ask a question anonymously, you want to make it non personal, so it's like a mutual agreement.

I think a lot of people write anonymously simply because the topic might be a wee bit out of their natural comfort but they still want to provide their opinions.

I think people who insult others anonymously aren’t cowards but much rather ashamed with themselves to be able to scoop that low of a standard.

Many people use anonymous mode to just ask questions that are embarrassing, or that they don't want traced back to them (if they're giving out information that could identify someone). There's nothing wrong with that.

Anonymous allows the words to be assessed and remove the ability for personal attacks. Personal attacks aren't conducive to healthy discussions or critiques. So, even though some people may also fear retribution, there are legitimate and logical reasons to use anonymous. Pure arguments are removed of human elements of age, gender, or title. The argument either stands, works, or is assessed on it's own or it is weakened or distracted from it's purpose.
