No one talks about Indians. . . who make up almost one-sixth of the world's population. The reason why is that the concept of race was never meant to address Indians or any group that was not "White".
Lol who says that, people from any other part of the world staying in different part of the world are not treated fairly they have there own reasons but it was them, who invaded and brought people to there country in the first place so now people have spread.
But I didnot understand your concept that Race is only like whites and non whites, I mean why white is considered as a standard here like ang scientific reason or something? This I am asking in curiosity.
And I asked the question simply like just to know like if people where given the choice which culture would they choose not just color but based on way of life style and attire it was not that deep of question just simple choice.
And recently I was called rapist from Delhi and that's racial epithet most people hold of Indians, i just laughed how childish was the commentor and using the word rape so lightly.

Okay well, I don't know how race is defined in India. I hope you share your experiences there. In America, it is framed and debated strictly in terms of "Black" and "White" people. And I think you can talk to several folks here at GaG to get that understanding. The thing is, this is problematic. Almost half of this planet is defined as Asian. And we all know that Asians are not even a single race. We can talk about the vast differences between Pacific-Islanders, East Asians, Central Asians, Indians, Middle Easterners, etc.
But racists don't worry about that. They concern themselves with the absolute minority of the human family. So perhaps your question should just be about ethnic group or culture.
As for the stereotypes coming your way, I do not envy you. It is just the way this site works. Everyone non-"White" has to worry about the stereotypes abound about their supposed group.
Actually Ronald, historically in academic communities in America this wasn't true. The degradation of race relations in America is fairly recent, though prior to desegregation they were obviously worse than today.
In WW2 the Japanese believed themselves to be the best race (they're basically the same as koreans since they killed all the ainu), they spread propaganda to this effect when they invaded china and korea.
What was the state of race relations when Mary Turner was lynched? Her pregnant body burned and her unborn child cut from her stomach and stomped to death?
Are you saying that when "Blacks" feared similar treatment. . . there weren't any racial concerns. It is hard to decide which is which. . . is the idea more repugnant or more insane?
Perhaps you need to learn how to read PROPERLY. PRIOR to desegregation race relations were worse.
That happened PRIOR to desegregation. 1968 housing law was changed. My cousins were treated better when we were kids in our racist (HQ of the KKK) hometown then they are now. One of them is dying because he trusts his racist doctor who refuses to remove his gallbladder.

The only problem is you do not define this date. Schools were legally desegregated in 1954. Emmitt Till was murdered in 1955. Medger Evers was murdered in 1963. MLK in 1968. James Chaney, Michael Schwerner, and Andrew Goodman were murdered in 1964.
I mean, I can go on.
Perhaps you can point to the year when racial tensions stopped.
Because I maintain that most "White" libs are only beginning to see the America, "Black" people have always seen.
If you can't understand the difference between "stopped" and "improved" you aren't worth talking to.
In the city I grew up in, when my grandmother was a kid, the rounded up all the black people. They killed the ones that wouldn't march and buried them in unmarked graves.
Things are better than that now. Name ANY problem in ANY country that no longer exists. Social problems, don't say smallpox.

Libs are only seeing the America "Black" people have always seen. Most "White" Americans tell themselves these fairy tales about the inherent goodness of the nation, while "Blacks" and other non-"White" groups point out insane racist nonsense.
Now that same nonsense has grown to a point where it is threatening our democracy. Because we never directly confronted it in the past.
So from my viewpoint is not so much that race relations has deteriorated. It is that race relations are simply being exposed for what they have always been.
