Do you value feelings more or doing the right thing more?

Question

For me i value doing the right thing more but i am seen as a robot.

My sister values her feelings more. She will have an affair with a married man and have sex outside of marriage and do crazy things because her feelings feel right to her. If her husband gets mad for her bad behavior, like not helping to cook or clean or watch the kids, she will ignore him and go to sleep.

Feelings>doing the right thing means you are more happier?

There very rare occassions where feelings rate more than the right thing.
For example, I sometimes let me roomate play on my laptop when he should be studying on days he's feeling low, he has self esteem issues. The right thing would be to make him study but I want to help him feel better, I'd help him with the studies later.

But in a majority of the cases, doing the right thing is more important and always better on the long run.

In your sister's case, she's just being a toxic person and a crappy partner and using lame excuses to defend her actions.

I don't think these go against each other.
Sometimes doing the right thing involves difficult decisions, and some temporary emotional pain. But ultimately, you will be happier knowing you live a righteous life of integrity in accordance to the values and principles you have decided to live by.

I don't think you are acting like a robot. I think you know what responsibility and integrity means, and that takes strength of character.

Doing the right thing more. You are not happier by following your feelings and thats because it might or might not cause bad things in the future. Doing the right thing now might be hard but it won't hunt you down in the future. Do the right thing.
