Wolves are pack animals with a highly complex social hierarchy and moral, ethical orientation comparable to that of human beings. Another character trait they have in common with humans is that they are highly intelligent apex predators who remember the ancient human hunting parties who engaged in cooperative herd drives into each other's flanks, giving fleeing herbavours the choice of being ripped apart by wolves fangs, or eviscerated by the razor sharp Flint and Obsidian spear tips of the hunters back in the days when meat was plentiful, and slow Slimodon (Sabertooth) were driven too extinction by this alliance of social apex predators, who could run down their prey, rather than wait in the tall grasses, too ambush them. Wolves have long memories, and will not attack a human hiker during warm time's of year, when food is plentiful. Not as a well organized, well fed pack. Even a stray or rouge, on it's own will not threaten you without cause, (Banished, quitting, or defecting from unfavorable conditions within the pack, a father or mother hunting for pup's, or an injury preventing an individual from pulling their weight) will not be a threat unless they feel threatened. Disease, like mange, rabies, or preon based illnesses (crystallin contagions like mad cow disease) can make any mammal unpredictable and potentially aggressive or violent if approached. Winter is a completely different scenario all together. Any animal that is starving, (HUMANS INCLUDED) will kill to survive!
That would be my assessment. Thats also WHY you carry MULTIPLE firearms with you in areas like that. This is where stupid ass Biden and his idea you only need a half dozen rounds is full of shit.
