What would you do if you’re an assistant hiring manager, hiring manager calls to schedule a job interview, asks if this one day works for interview?

(Question continued here)
…but candidate says he/she would love to but can’t due to having work/medical appointment/infusion/chemo/surgery/transplant/or any other medical thing related/college lab or test/final that day and says which other days would work and then asks if it would be possible for him/her to be interviewed in that day & then hiring manager says they will check & then call back. Then after hanging up, hiring manager tells you (you being the assistant) the following, “You know what, let’s just take him/her off the list. It’s too much work putting it in a note in front of a computer to get back to calling him/her to schedule an interview (and I don’t care about that medical issue {if it is medical related}, chances are it’s his/her fault and not too likely to be hereditary or genetic). “
