You must have been wondering about this for a while now, you've wanted to date someone for a while. And have been rejected or not been asked out.

These are the 10 top reason why you're single:

1. You're too hard to get.

There's easy, hard to get, impossible to get and then there's you. Don't get me wrong people love challenges, but when you seem like you're not interested, no one is going to go for you. No one likes rejection... so take it down a notch.

2. You are still looking for "The One".

"I want my boyfriend to be 6'36", natural pink hair and red eyes." "C'mon, don't you think that's a little too much?" "Uhmm, no." You are still looking for your prince charming (or princess) that will sweep you off you feet. In the dating world you have to be ready to compromise.

3. You don't go out.

What are you talking about? You're not single, your dating Netflix. If most of your weekends are of you binge watching your favourite shows, I don't know why you'd be shocked that you're still single. I don't think you'll be able to meet anyone on your bed.

4. You're not confident.

If you don't love yourself no one will actually be able to love you. There is only ever going to be one of you. You are unique and special. Be proud of who you are and all the things you have achieved. You don’t need someone else to make you feel loved and you don’t need someone else to make you feel whole.

5. You just don't care. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pretty simple, right? When you actually think about it, in the list of things you really want dating isn't even in your top 5... You don't really try to "impress" anyone. So no one tries to approach you.

I see the title, and I think “surely, some stranger on the internet will know reasons, why I am single”. Irony and sarcasm, of course.
And…right the first sentence. No. I don’t. For a long time. Would I like to date someone? Sure. Will I? :-D Yeah, like that’s ever going to happen.
Top 10. Do you know, what’s the best irony? Numbers. We use base-10 system, that means we have 10 basic digits. And yet, somehow, it’s always 9 single digit numbers and then 1 2-digit. It’s just wrong. 0 to 9, ladies and gentlemen. 0 to 9.
Then I get the part with “6'36" “. Oh, boy. How I love (reaaaaally heavy sarcasm and irony) the imperial pseudosystem. I know you are probably trying to make joke there (or just typo, 3 is below 6 on numpad (if this was written on proper keyboard). But I have been exposed to this BS, and…shouldn’t that be…9 feet? That’s (in non-retarded measurement) 2,743 m. That’s…huh? People cannot get that tall, our body structure cannot handle this.
Point 3, you got me. :-) Except only on the title. Nothing else. Same for point 4. And point 5…tada! You got it. Damn, girl, maybe you’re better than I thought.
But…where is the rest of it? You know…the other 5 points? Huh? Did I miss something, or is it in another article? I don’t see it. But hey, you are the girl who wrote the “Quarter-life Crisis”, that was really good one. You kind of captured the essence of something, what I haven’t seen anywhere before.

I think 2 should be phrased like, you have impossible standards vs. you're looking for the one, because I think everyone who is looking to be in a relationship is looking for "the one." The one is more like that guy or girl who you want to see yourself with for either a long time or the rest of your life, vs. just looking for the "white whale," ... that person who is impossibly attractive, smart, funny, kind, loves to travel, and wants/doesn't want kids someday, and fulfills your absolute fantasy of what the perfect girl/guy is.

True list though. There are some though that do try really hard and are still single, but I think the majority fall somewhere on this list as to why they remain single.

1. You're too hard to get - (Wrong, if you are having the feeling that we are playing too hard to get, we are most certainly not interested in you).

2. You are still looking for "The One" (We are never looking for -the one- in most case we are looking for something simple, that is getting rather harder to find).

3. You don't go out. (We do, we have limited time, we have a job that requires us to work more than 10 hrs each week, managing house, spending time with the relatives and friends, just because we aren't always hitting the bar, doesn't mean we don't go out).

4. You're not confident. (We don't have to be confident 24/7, we are human, don't throw stuff at us requiring us to be perfect, workout for a six pack, so only than you can find us attractive. Instead of complaining about us not being confident, how about try helping for once, besides if your gonna run away from a person that not's confident, better run now, because marriage is about commitment and going through thin and thick together, you won't last in that relationship since you are always searching for Mr. Confident).

I can't help that I'm actually a really decent, albeit unapproachable and inexperienced and sometimes unconfident guy, that doesn't care all that much, and that is kinda boring. Doesn't help that I'm a little out of shape too, but I'm working on it.

I don't know, I just want a good girl to spend time with, all of the dating jargon and psychology and head games that go with it, I have zero time for it. Just some nice, attractive girl, come along, see me for what I am and trust me. Just enjoy time together. I'm a nice guy, I don't bite, I don't do anything that is a huge deal breaker, and I'm not gonna run off with some other girl. It's just all so dumb.

Like honestly, I'll be your best friend if you'd just do the same for me. Ya know? Just be there for me and I'll be there for you. But it doesn't seem like there are any women out there that can just be happy with that. Everything's gotta be dramatic and be a challenge. No, it doesn't have to be.

Exactly, it seems like so many women (and men) are looking for excitement, as if THEY are the ones looking to fill some void. I get that two people should have common interests and there should be some challenge along with time and space to allow feelings and attraction to grow. However, all these rules, hoops, games, etc. are tiring and suck the fun right out of dating for most people.

Some people are nervous or awkward in love, both men and women, and that is okay too. In fact, it can be endearing because you know there is tension there. Maybe not chemistry yet, maybe not sparks, but there is that tension, that unspoken interest between you. As long as that tension opens up to honest dialog and rapport, then things should be fine.

I took a woman home the other day, she was one of my sister's friends/acquaintances. She is older than me by a few years, but she is cute. I am attracted, but not 100% sure of her yet. While taking her home we had a kind of awkward chat (I am kind of shy), but it came to the subject of age differences in relationships, marriage, kids, and all types of other stuff. I had no idea it would go there either, it just happened.

When I dropped her off she said I "was making her nervous", but she was smiling at me when she said it. Stupid me asked "I am being awkward?" and she said "oh no! I am awkward" and then tried to get out of the car. haha! I let her out, talked for a few more minutes and then I told her "until next time" and she was like "yup, next week" with a big smile.

I hope I didn't blow it. I think the time apart and letting things develop slowly can sometimes build intrigue and anticipation. Other times it can lead to missed opportunities.

I think she knows I like her though, and I have a feeling she likes me too, even though we were both kind of awk. haha! I don't think I freaked her out because she is normally so outgoing, so the only way she would be awk would be if she liked me and was kind of being nervous about it.

I just don't give a shit anymore pursuing girls. I tried to be Mr. Understanding, Mr. Romantic, Mr. Honesty, Mr. Assertive... none of that shit works. Quite Frankly, I don't need a girl in my life to fulfill my needs so I'm happier (no I'm not gay) but I shop alone, I go to the movies alone, I go to sporting events alone. I tried Tinder and that sucked (no luck), I have approached girls who lone and behold (were taken).

My tank is on empty, I don't have any energy to rev my engine and go after her. I dealt with so much bull shit drama and girls putting me down because of their own stupid ass insecurities and here I am about to complete law school and make a strong difference for other people and fight for good, I got other things to worry about.

interesting reasons not gonna lie these are real genuine reasons why someone can't get a bf/gf but there is another reason, one that you forgot to mention : you're simply not good enough

yes that happens a lot, you want someone or at least try your best for someone but that person ( or sometimes even more than one ) finds a silly flaw in you that deems you undatable.
