Would you still date someone if they had a major physical disability?

  • I did but wouldn't again. The issue was less about their disability, that wasn't too much of a problem.

But because they were in a wheelchair, they didn't get hit on in the past so were insecure about if they were good enough for me, always asking for reassurance etc and tried rushing me into a relationship, invested into me way too much too soon.

  • How major is major? One leg or one arm I can overlook. More than that or if she’s blind/deaf then no.

  • My fiancee has degenerative disc disorder which I'd consider major seeing as it's highly likely she will end up in a wheelchair and I've spent many sleepless nights with her while she's in pain, I knew about it before we started dating and honestly I couldn't give a damn if I loose out on a bit of energy to give the one I love the support they deserve 😎

  • Well, it would depend, there could be some situations that would be too tough but overall I don't think it would be anything that would drive me away. Do you have any examples to get into more specifics?

  • Might depend on the disability, but I'd like to think yes I would.

  • Yes but I can honestly say if the disability was really bad needing round the clock specialist care it would effect my judgement unless I was already with them when it happened

I would. But then again I have a minor disability. So I’ve grown up in both worlds (disability and abled body). But you wouldn’t believe on how many girls pass by or don’t give me a chance because it it

  • Sure but I ain't gonna wipe someone ass tho

  • It depends

I would if he was independent and didn't rely on someone to care for him. I couldn't enter into a relationship knowing I'd be a guys carer, instead of his partner.

If I was already in a long-term relationship, and i loved him , but he had an accident which caused him to have a severe disability , i'd give him 24/7 care if I had to. I wouldn't turn my back on a guy I loved

  • I will say, I am probably not a good caregiver for someone who is quad. But I have never let a physical disability keep me from dating anyone I wanted to. I dated a dwarf up until about a month ago and he was a fine guy.

But I would feel exploitative if I dated someone with the kind of mental disability that makes their IQ very low.
