It's just a short step from there to being the guy in The Danish Girl (as in the REAL story, not the Hollywood propo, wherein the guy was pressured into getting a gender change by his wife, against his own will, because she'd been a fem-domina lesbian all along). It's happened to my brother, who's wife did exactly the same thing, signing the papers to change his official gender herself, less than two days after he'd lost 40% of his blood in a narrowly failed suicide attempt because she told him not only that she'd break up with him, but that she'd toss their 1yo daughter off the balcony of their 13th floor apartment unless he agreed to get the sex-change and become her bitch properly. I am NOT a transwoman- I am a MAN. And the male gender role in relationship dynamics is, always had been and always will be, that of the dominant partner. Because in this society, this world, where biology and genetics are now deemed to be irrelevant, that dominant role's the ONLY THING which now defines me as being a man. That role is mine. As a man, I own it. And I won't allow ANY woman to take it away from me. I'll NEVER let what happened to my elder brother happen to me, and unlike him, I wouldn't try and kill myself in a desperate last-gasp bid to escape- I'd kill the woman attempting to strip my masculinity away from me first, beating her to death bare-handed, long before it reached that stage.
Both need to be mature minded and have a similar goal in mind.
I have been in both relations where she made more money and also when i made more.
The one that made more money was selfish partied her money away while we lived off of my shitty paycheck. She even attempted to try and finance for an Audi R8 which she made enough to afford until I brought reality into the picture and showed her how much taxes, insurance would cost her. She then got pussy with me saying I always shoot down her dreams.
Keep in mind she couldn't cook and refused to clean up behind herself.
When I made more I had enough to live comfortably and still go out or get gifts.

I think a relationship should be balanced, 50/50. I've noticed that in the long term a healthier bond is when the partners do not completely take control of only one thing, as in time your daily life changes and it's way harder to maintain what you did before.

there's not really a norm anymore, its a mix, so there's no main role. i have no feeling on it , i don't think of it, unless someone was expecting me to be submissive. then i would be surprised and turned off.

Yes, if that is what works in the particular relationship, then it is perfectly ok. Why must couples feel they should fit into a gender normative role in these categorized/stereotypical relationships. While it is not talked about much, dominate women with submissive men is quite common. This is especially true among men who are in largley dominating/powerful roles during their day (jobs). They seek to be a bit submissive in their private lives. To each their own. What works for you is all that matters.
I'm going to say that it is in fact ok if the woman were to take on the "traditional men's role" of providing for the family. However, I am a traditional person. No 1 need agree with me, for I am citing my own opinion purely, and I'm 100% sure many people have a different view than I do. My opinion is thus: A man is the head of the house, and bears the responsibility of caring for the family and providing for them. A woman is the pillar of the house that keeps the entire house together with her love and compassion. She makes sure that the family is happy and comfortable in her home, because the home is her castle. I conclude my opinion by stating that, as a man, I would prefer to shoulder the responsibility of providing for my wife and children, while my wife is my right-hand partner in keeping it all together.
I don't particularly care for either party being dominant or submissive in a relationship, because I neither want to order nor be ordered to do anything; if the couple is comfortable with their relationship having one partner working and the other being a stay at home partner, that's their prerogative and I applaud the work ethic and dedication of anyone who can provide for two people, even more so for women in a society that tends to be weighted against them.
It's deeply humiliating for a guy. And I don't mean that "we've been socialized" nonsense, but there is a deep, undeniable fulfillment we as men desire in being the provider for us and ours. it just doesn't work for me. my job is to carry the water, make the money and have to step it up... when it's the girl who does that i know it won't last. girls have to have a guy who they think is better than them and a guy who makes less money is most times considered worse
I think it's okay, I just don't really understand how some guys can pull it off. Like: what does the woman see in him? I feel like I get rejected all the time for not bringing enough to the table, but maybe I am misreading why they reject me. I knew she was boss and that when she asked me for something I delivered, but never fetl subserviant. Transfer that into a relatoinship, it could work. Yeah personally I would having nothing to do with that situation. A woman with that power is not attractive to me. I want to be the man in the relationship not the woman.
