I’ve never found someone I liked and gone “yeah they’re great, but they can’t drive...”. Driving can help sometimes, but it’s never a reason for me not to date someone.
I chose A because I don't care if my girl doesn't have a car or can't drive. Because I should be doing the driving and prefer driving. I would feel weird if my girlfriend was driving and I was in the passenger seat.
well here transport sucks as well but due to traffic i'm faster most places by bike than i would be by car or public transport so there's not even a need.
I don't have a car and I can't drive (at least not legally). I wouldn't mind dating someone who doesn't have a car or can't drive, but it would be preferable.
See as a guy it's okay because we basically Drive all the time anyway I'm my own car so that's not a problem but as a woman that doesn't have a car and can't drive
Indont even see guys that way... but my friends say guys wouldn't want me if i can't drive. I find that bogus especially since both these girls have cars and can drive, yet theyre the ones single... plus my boyfriend (well ex now) said he’d get annoyed having tondrive all the time
"They also told me how no guy these days will want a girl who doesn't have a car/not trying to learn to drive"
When did your friends become the authority on what guys look for in a girl? They probably won't date guys who don't have their own vehicle and are projecting their own biases onto guys thinking that our preferences are the same as their preferences.
A few notes: "Then that night we talked, he played dumb and asked if i recalled what happened earlier. So i played dumb in return and pretended as if we never broke up. He got pissed and i turned all “delusional” and kept telling him he was still my boyfriend. "
Playing dumb is stupid.
"My friends tagteamed me and lectured me for getting weak all of a sudden and going out with a bang as the “crazy” girlfriend. "
Always be careful listening to friends. I have a rule that I listen to people who are where I am, or where I want to be. So, if I wanted to be married, I wouldn't listen to single people. What do they know? lol
Yea we dont have much public transport here. And yea i just played dumb because he did. But you're right, I don't know why i listened to them but i mean technically im single now too 🙈
I agree. I dont even see guys that way... but my friends say guys wouldn't want me if i can't drive. I find that bogus especially since both these girls have cars and can drive, yet theyre the ones single

LMFAO! I suspect they're making the rookie mistake of thinking, "I wouldn't want to date a guy with no car, therefore guys wouldn't want to date a girl with no car." Not true at all.
LOL! That's a truly absurd way to think! People aren't looking to date carbon copies of themselves. In fact, most definitely DON'T want to do that. I'm not sure when or how this notion that you should ONLY want in a partner what you have yourself became anything other than a failure in some pretty basic reasoning that would be held by a small number of. . . shall we say. . . dullards.
Oh I'm not saying "opposite." I'm just saying "not the exact same thing." Your friends are thinking that what they value in a man "a car" is necessarily what a man values in a woman. Trust me on this--that's WAY off! It's actually pretty freaking obvious!
Fair enough. I still suspect it's a minority opinion amongst guys. It's probably an opinion that's even MORE in the minority amongst the set of guys most girls would actually want to date! lol!

Thank you
It wouldn't bother me at all, I have a car and prefer to be the one driving anyway. Oooh and it could be fun to teach you
Aww sounds fun :) yea he didn't wanna teach me. He wanted me to learn before we moved in together
At this age I would be fine with my partner not knowing how to drive but I would prefer if my partner could drive when I get older.
I get it
A is totally fine. It's not the car and the driving skills that count :D
Be a sweetheart with whom I feel a click and I'll be happy :D
Awww :)
No problem dating someone who can't drive they have things worked out for getting round but I'd never give up my car
Yea well we lack public transport so you’d actually be ok having to drive 99% of the time?
My ex wife never wanted to drive so I got used to that even had to drop her off at work. Admittedly saying she could drive was stretching the truth
Hahaha okay
Neither me or my boyfriend can drive or own a car. I am about to save up for a license and a car but that takes time.
Yea he was saving for the car and i was saving for the aprtment but without him, now i gotta consider saving for a car myself
I chose A because I don't care if my girl doesn't have a car or can't drive. Because I should be doing the driving and prefer driving. I would feel weird if my girlfriend was driving and I was in the passenger seat.
Sounds sweet
Whether a girl has a car or not i would date her
i would have to save money up to be able to go see her.
I’d help him get to me (although im tryna date within my state now haha)
Yeah well i think everything should be 50/50 but where there's a will there's a way. Haha
I have a car myself and I can drive. I would say I prefer a guy who can drive too.
Okay
It would be impossible for me to date a guy who doesn’t have a car.
Okay
and so sorry about your relationship. The right guy is out there looking for you as we speak. You'll find him.
Thank u :)
Yes and I have before. It does make it harder to see each other, but otherwise don't care.
Well thats sweet. Glad to know its a possibility
Where I live there is public transport going pretty much everywhere, so I'd date someone who is incapable of driving/doesn't have a car
Yea we lack pub transport here
right now i don't have a car, cause i'm back to school to get my masters and i don't need a car to get around in the city.
Lucky. We lack transport here
well here transport sucks as well but due to traffic i'm faster most places by bike than i would be by car or public transport so there's not even a need.

I find it funny they said that because theyve been driving for years and are single...
It doesn't surprise me that they're single. Are they single by choice or can't get a guy to put up with them?
One just became single because her dude wanted to settle and start a fam and she didn't. The other just hasn't gotten a man
I don't mind, I'm used to take the bus and walk since I'm a child.
Ohh ok
I live in NYC where not driving is ok. Some NYers go their whole lives without learning to drive.
So, yes, I would date some who didn't drive.
A few notes:

Yeah because it's about the person not the stuff they have and can or cannot do
I agree. I dont even see guys that way... but my friends say guys wouldn't want me if i can't drive. I find that bogus especially since both these girls have cars and can drive, yet theyre the ones single
Some guys will care but those guys will also expect free rides and for you to do the running around so good job you dont have a car :D
I'm not sure why this would matter, so yeah--if she's otherwise awesome why not?
Yea thats exactly what they said
LOL! That's a truly absurd way to think! People aren't looking to date carbon copies of themselves. In fact, most definitely DON'T want to do that. i won't lie, me and my boyfriend (now ex) hated the “opoosites attract” saying... we both wanted carbon copies of ourselves haha
Oh I'm not saying "opposite." I'm just saying "not the exact same thing." Your friends are thinking that what they value in a man "a car" is necessarily what a man values in a woman. Trust me on this--that's WAY off! It's actually pretty freaking obvious!
Lol well my ex was the first i met who insisted i get a license and car
Okay--well then I guess it mattered to him! lol! But I'd suspect it's less of an issue for most guys.
Some of the guys below agreed with him
Fair enough. I still suspect it's a minority opinion amongst guys. It's probably an opinion that's even MORE in the minority amongst the set of guys most girls would actually want to date! lol!
