I'm in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend, and i'm worried, what should I do?

So, we just hit college in August, and our distance is like, really far away. It's a 5 hour journey from where I am to her location. It has been 3 weeks, and things had happened along the way. So, yesterday she told me that she had been chatting with a senior for a week without even telling me, both of them have a history. The thing is, she told me that she almost got attracted to him, and i'm really worried. She told me that she can't handle a long distance relationship, and the reason is, she might fall for somebody else and she said that her feelings towards me are slowly fading away.

Her college is like a very prestigious uni while my college is like, bottom tier uni, and she told me that she can't show off me to her friends and she have nothing to be proud of me. Believe me, i don't even want to be in this position, and i'm working my ass to try again next year to get into a really prestigious uni, similar to her, or even i can enter her college as well, and her reason of her possibly falling in love with somebody else is that i'm not in a really prestigious school and that she can't be proud of me.

Earlier this morning, she said that she wanted to join some sort of a band club in college, and coincidentally, her senior is in there too, now i got completely worried, because first of all, both of them have a history, even though this dude have a girlfriend, i don't know if he will try to do anything fishy. and second of all, my girlfriend warned me that she will fall for somebody else, and I said "yeah, its okay, as long as you don't try anything funny" but then she answered "I'm not sure about that. It's possible, Ryan. but i don't know" and she followed by "If anything happens, I'll tell you".

We're in a long distance relationship, I don't know what she is up to. I trust her, but who knows what she will do behind my back. I am really worried, and i don't wanna lose her whilst i'm working my ass off for next year just so I can still have her in my life.

LDRs don't work. She's already warned you that it isn't going to last, and you weren't listening.

The smart thing to do is to break up now and let her be free (and you be free yourself). Much better that than to feel betrayed, because that's what will end up happening anyway.

Relationships are about SPENDING TIME TOGETHER, and unless you have a SERIOUS commitment to each other (marriage, children, own a home together, etc.), such separations almost never allow the relationship to survive. She's already made it crystal clear that she's not going to maintain the energy and effort to keep it alive, and you need to accept that and do the right thing, which is end your relationship with her and move on. Assume that you two are done and start looking for someone else who is LOCAL to you. It sucks, but that's really all you can do.

If she's saying love is fading after only 3 weeks... LDR is not going to work. I've been in LDRs before and if she's saying that sort of things before 6 months... you should break with her before she does. I think beign you the one breaking up with her would make you feel better than if you wait to much and she acts before you do.

Break up and block her, and focus in your personal goals, and then next time find a less snobbish girl who can appreciate your good qualities, and not only superficial stuff like what university you attend to. Just think that you deserve better treat than the one she's giving you.

I've been there. Well, sort of. My first boyfriend would dump me a month after we both started college in different cities. It sounds like she’s manipulative—she doesn’t want to let you go, but she doesn’t want to commit to staying with you. You need to make a clean break if that’s the case. Don’t keep texting, snapping, chatting, nothing. No matter what she says, no matter how she guilt trips you. You are not entitled to stay her friend or boyfriend.

She is clearly not going to be lonely and if she is then it’s her own fault. It’s not fair for her to just keep you on retainer.

This is natural. Relationships send. High school romances rarely survive college, even if both go to the same college. And they shouldn't. You need to date many people before you commit to one.

She can't make you feel guilty, only you can do that. She's old enough to survive a breakup. This one may be her first but it won't be her last.
