Yes I'd prefer it! I don't want to be the only one with a car. I don't want to spend gas in my car and the wear and tear on my vehicle if we're to go anywhere! I mean like I don't want to do it all the time! ... Uber/Lyft or a even a taxi service can get quite expensive and I am not used to taking the bus! That takes forever sometimes! Also, why DON'T you have a car? ! What will do you for emergencies? ! Call 911? ! Take the BUS or ask your parents to take you to the hospital? ! How about Dr. s appointments? ! It can get real inconvenient without a car if you asked me!
Me and my girlfriend decided to go without a car because it is expensive, considering I had one for the past year and that it has prevented me from adding money to my savings account. For uni and work, we both take the bus, it only takes some advance planning. For emergencies, it would require 911. I do feel that my freedom of travel has been impaired since I don't have my car anymore and there are tons of stuff I can't do anymore, but the extra money I put in my account is worth it and public transportation has not been an issue for any of us. I was curious if a car was mandatory for other people as I noticed that once I lost mine, I had trouble adapting to the restrictions of public transport/traveling by bike
Depends where you live and what access to public transport there is.I live in a rural place and while I don't mind picking up and dropping off some of the time, I don't want to be doing it 100% of the time.
Not at all necessary. There is public transport and there are taxis. All these options make owning a car seem almost wasteful. It's a red flag to me if not having a car is someone's deal breaker. But I admit there might be a cultural difference. In a country where you can get a lot of stuff on credit like the U. S., it might not be such a big deal to own a car. Where I live, and where I grew up; you either pay the full price up front, or you walk.
I like living in the suburbs because I feel the city is too crowded, too noisy, too expensive and too stressful. In areas I have lived throughout my life, a car has been necessary. And I don't think it's easy to have 2 people working while owning 1 car. So I do think I would require someone to own a car (or at least I would expect their lack of owning one to be a temporary issue).
No. A car is expensive and there are lifestyles where you don't need one. Even I haven't one atm I have everything I need in reach and there is no need to spent money on a car. Also I am trying to safe up for my own place and a car would just prolong the journey... Nope not having a car is understandable.
It's not a must for me that my partner has to have a vehicle. What's important is whether or not it's a necessity to him.
Not for me. girlfriend lives in London. No real need to have a car. I've recently got rid of mine as i wasn't using it often. I now have a car share so can access a car anytime i like
Yes, you said we'll be going out on a date tomorrow and that you'd pick me up by noon and you don't have a car. my question is how are we gonna transport, are we gonna trek to the place or jug🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
When I had first dates with girls back when I didn't have a car (around 19-20), we'd usually agree to meet up at the location we chose and it worked out great, but I understand that it complicates stuff to not have a reliable mean of transportation
I’d prefer it only because I did date a guy without a car and I ended up chauffeuring him around. I felt like his mother
as long as im not used as a taxi service i have no problem with it because im always the one to drive anyway
Honestly, I’d like if at least one of us had a car. It’s not necessary if my partner doesn’t have a car, so long as I do — and vice verse 🚗
Yes I can't always be there to pick her up she's not my daughter
A car is a tool. Does everybody need a skilsaw too?
A car gets you to work. You use the skilsaw to work.
@JohnnySigma85 - So tell us why your partner needs either. So they can work? Likely they don't need either to work. Where ya going with this? I just sold my wife of thirty years car - got myself something I like. She doesn't hardly ever drive anyway. But she likes to joke about it and say that I sold her car.
@JohnnySigma85 - And you actually think I give a flying fuck what you think. Dear god. That's your insult? Hilarious. Yep, I'm the ultimate asshole. And IDGAF.
Yes. I don't mind picking her up if liked me to but she needs to have transportation in the event I'm not there or in an emergency. To think otherwise makes the person too dependant on the other person.
No, I have 2 cars, if she really needed one, I would just lend her one of mine.
She has to be responsible, if she uses the bus or tram to get around or a bike im cool if she has no car. I dont want a bum.
I wouldn't no because while I myself have my licence I can't afford to buy a car so in the meantime I'm happy to get around by public transport
No. I don't drive personally.. There are other ways to get around too.
No, where I live, there are some cities where you don't need a care to get around easily, public transportation is just fine.
A car or not, if I like their personality and history, that is all that matters.
No. I can drive myself. However if you plan on living on the countryside which I want to then having a car is pretty necessary and it's best if both partners have one.
No, but, I would imagine it gets a little tough, if they're not working too. You should at least be able to use public transit, but, to do that, you need to work
If she was hot enough I would be her chauffeur..
Yes! She has to be able to take me places
Even if public transportation is available or is that not an option?
I have to have my own life
What do you mean by that?
She means she's independent.
H E L L YES. I can’t drive us everywhere.
depends on your gender
Men: No - Women: Yes!
An asset, though not necessary.
Not necessary but it would be a bonus.
i'm not dating a bitch that doesn't own a car.
No because I have a car, peasants.
Seems like you "liberated" females still need a guy for transport. smh
Of course because I'm not gonna be his chauffeur.
