Guys, would you expect your girlfriend/wife to cook for you?

I like cooking for a girl.

I like it either way if a girl can cook or can't cook, it doesn't matter.

I've only had one girlfriend who was an excellent cook. I was almost intimidated by her in the kitchen, because everything was so good, and i never really fully comprehended her methods which were very advanced and intuitive.

I also like it when a girl is down to cook experimentally with me, and that can be fun to just try stuff in the kitchen, regardless of whether it turns out to be good.

I've only had one girl who was as mystified by my cooking as i was by the girl who was a good cook. That was actually a really great feeling to be providing basic nourishment for someone i loved, and she was just kind of depending on me to nourish her during that time.

I felt just like how god must have felt when he was making it rain loaves of bread on the Jews every morning for 40 days when they were in the wilderness.

Yes, but to be fair that goes both ways, I have no issues cooking from time to time.

But in general I'd expect her to cook because the nature of my job is manual labor, long hours, very physical, very exhausting. And to be honest I just don't have the drive or energy to cook seeing how on average per day I lift, move and stack by hand around 5-10 tons of weight which in pounds is around 10,000 to 20,000 pounds.

And that's only one of the things I do daily, you can't really expect me to have much energy left after doing that all day.

Depends. I work nights. I'd like to see dinner before I have to wake up. Typically wake up 3 hours before work. I work usually around midnight. Though, I don't expect her to do all the cooking. I'd help out on days not working or if I'm not tired. I don't need more than 4 hours of sleep anyways. Hopefully it stays that way. I'll even bring breakfast in bed every morning since I'll get home just in time for the perfect time to make breakfast if she isn't up. Girlfriend/wife, I expect a partnership. Working together will make things better in the long run.

See if i am going to have a girlfriend or wife then yeah i would certainly love if she cooks for me. Like for me it shows how much she care about me.
And even if she don't know to cook it won't have a much difference like it's okay as i guess that wasn't the the reason i got myself a girl for...
but in my personal opinion if she can cook some food for me... trust me...(all the love dobe stuff here).
In one word having a girl who care about you if something a guy desires... but if she can even cook something for me and save me from dying due to starvation... then that's certainly a bonus for me!

I wouldn't expect her to cook for me; if she wanted to then I would be fine with it, but I like cooking and I want her to be happy. I would cook if I were home before her or she would if she was home first. It mainly depends on the situation I guess and our dynamic relationship.

I honestly cannot stand the idea of a woman spending time in the kitchen cooking for me, or being expected to clean house while I work. I’d be very miserable if I lived in the 50’s. I enjoy cooking most of the meals for my girlfriend, and I, as well as how much pleasure it brings her. Although, I must confess, I suck at breakfast, and she’s better at that than me, so I will concede that I’m okay if she wants to make us omelettes once in a while.

I would never expect it, however, it would be a nice surprise. I enjoy cooking, i have a talent for it im told... however, im also a messy pup in the kitchen so the dynamic of me cooking up a storm and my girlfriend tidying works well... we both get to sit down at the same time, tidy kitchen, no pots and pans to scrub after dinner and can relax for the evening.

Although I can cook myself and I cook well, thing is I don't like cooking at all.
I wouldn't mind joining/helping with the cooking from time to time & don't mind cooking for her on some special occasion, but generally I'd prefer her to cook.

No, I definitely don't expect it. I am perfectly capable of cooking for myself, and I'm sure there would be times throughout the relationship that I'd cook something for my partner. But just because I don't expect it doesn't mean I would be any less touched or appreciate it any less if she did decide to cook for me.

Men have always been the best cooks. No offense to women but I have found this to be 100% true from what I have seen/eaten. My father cooked most of the meals when I was young now I cook most of the meals and nobody complains. Not just BBQ everything from chicken soup to chicken fajitas and lasagna.

It depends. Did I cook last night? If yes, then yes. I always believe both have equal equity in the relationship, and as such should provide and serve eachother equally. That being said, if she was too tired or came home late, I wouldn't expect it either way, I would quickly make something I knew she liked in order to relax her. But, that's just me.

That may sound like a caveman like but perhaps women should have hunted. Try hauling a 200 lb. buck back home ladies. And what a waste of muscles... a man picking up firewood. That won't work. I think making a good meal should be in anybody's toolset. In the field I'll be working in in the future I will have 9 hour hospital shifts as part of the O. R. team. I would appreciate if she cooked then but any other day I'd help or prepair a meal for us myself.

It depends. If she is at home all the time while I work then yes. I would still help with cooking and chores, but the majority would be hers. If we both have jobs we do ALL housework evenly. If she works more than me then no.

I would personally want my girl to cook for me. Not all the time, just sometimes. My last girlfriend was vegan, and I really enjoyed the food she made. I just like not having to do everything. I already do a lot in my household

Nope. My wife cooks because she's not working. She's gotten quite good at it. If she were also working then we would take turns. Also we would have a maid so that our weekends were free.

I cook more than my mom and dad combined so I would expect it to be equally balanced. Like a cooking duo. I can't wait for the day I get to cook for her and show her that she won't need to worry about cooking and we can share the duty evenly

Well depends on a lot of things. Does she work or stay at home? Does she have illnesses that stop her being able to cook if not at work. There are many reasons but if she worked then no. But if I had a day off I would cook and if she had a day off I would expect her to cook.

Not really. I have cooked a whole lot more for my girlfriends than the other way around.
