That happened to me (but it was HIM that gave the biggest loudest FART I'd ever heard) - and he was just laying on the couch. He didn't even apologize. That's when I knew the "honeymoon" was over.
More serious? That sounds like pollyanna.
@cavmanier If you call commitment, comfort, companionship, true friendship, shared values and trust, Pollyanna, then so be it. Yes, pollyanna over someone who will fuck you over in every sense of the word.
Read what you said though. It literally means a day after the chemicals wear off something more serious will kick in. That is fairy tale talk. There would have been something serious before the end of the 18 month period if the feelings transition past that point. The deep connection is really separate from the end of that period. The end of the period just means the high is gone.
"pollyanna over someone who will fuck you over in every sense of the word."Being in the first year or so of the relationship doesn't meant you will get fucked over by them. They are separate things.
@cavmanier I said it should take over, doesn't always happen automatically without effort of learning and caring about the person. Otherwise, it just ends. A lot of people are addicted to that high and repeat over and over and never get to anything real.
Maybe you are saying that people are more likely to stay together during the high and break up after if they don't really like each other much. I know that I can still care and love a person for who they are even during the beginning period. I don't need that period to be over for that. Plus, the way I am is I've found the initial excitement doesn't go away for me that much in general.
@cavmanier Yes, exactly.
It's just miscommunication then
