I dont think he has changed his mind about wanting to be with you, per se. To me it seems that addressing your status and future has stressed him out, and that he can´t deal with that. In my experience 1 month and 1 week into dating someone is a bit quick to have that kind of talk. Thats not to say that you are wrong for being clear about your needs and wishes! I just think that it can take away from the excitement, figuring out stuff, newness etc. of a relationship. It makes it very serious, very suddenly and then people start overthinking things and then they freak out.
