In today's society it seems that same sex marriages are becoming the norm, and same sex couples don't get the harassment that they would have 30 years ago. So why not with a love triangle where all three participants truly love each other? Seems like those of us in such relationships are the target of scorn now days.
It sounds kinda weird to me when you call it a love triangle. The word is polyamory. As to whether or not it should be allowed, marriage shouldn't be something that the government controls in the first place.
The main reason that polyamory was originally seen as wrong was because it wasn't practical. And eventually that turned into it being immoral. If you actually look at the history books, up until recently royalty/rich people did have multiple wives or husbands. Its only frowned upon for the general population. The reason for this is that the person with multiple partners theoretically needs to be able to support all his or her partners moniterally, emotionally, and socially. A normal person would never be able to do that, and thus it is deemed immoral.
If you look at Islam for example, there is a certain number of wives you are allowed to have at a maximum (i think it was 4, but i could be wrong). To me this makes sense because you could theoretically take care of 4 wives, however 20 would be impossible.
In conclusion, polyamory should be allowed, however, it is not wise for the majority of the population.
Yeah, history is weird XD. Also... another fun fact: most morals are based on biology. If you don't believe me, here's frans de waal's Ted talk on it. https://youtu.be/GcJxRqTs5nk
In Islam the rules are fluid. It's all suggestions based on the life of the profit. The only real rule is you have to love and desire them all equally.
Keep in mind this is the same religion that says rape is a man's right basically. As long as it's a slave or non-muslim they meet while away from their wife. Full disclosure though the context for the last on is war.
Thats true, but the point of mentioning that was that its an example where polyamory is allowed to an extent, but not on a large scale. There are other cultures where its true too.
I agree with what you are saying though, Islam is really complicated and fluid, so a rule that applies in one situation might not in the next.
I simply referred to it as Love Triangle for a attention grabber. The word Polyamory is kinda like swimming in the ocean and yelling barracudda... people will be like "huh"... but if you yell shark they get it lol

Of course they should be allowed to if all parties want to. I personally wouldn't like it, but the law shouldn't dictate what individual people are allowed to do when they're not hurting anyone.

Don't know if it is should be legal. I don't really fully understand such relationships but everyone should be able to do their own thing as long as it is isn't detrimental their emotional well being.
I'm. jist throwing the question out there for debate. As I said same sex marriages use to be frowned on so I wondered when or of it would change for those like us. Either way we'll keep going our way as we have the last 11+ years.

It never works out in any of those cultures. The Mormans only did it in the early days for profit. The rich members wanted it. I believe those early men also became elders and took the wives from younger men.
Don't even try to go "what about Islam?"

I think people should do whatever makes them happy if it's legal and consent has been given by all parties. Thanks for the invite. Great question!
