It's a sense of belonging and having meaning and value to a partner, along with a strong desire to be a part of that person's life. Both prioritize making sure both always feel safe, secure and special. Both are eager to understand the other, prioritizing hearing rather than being heard. If you attempt to form an emotional connection, it will appear as a machine rather than a living entity. In an emotional connection, people just gravitate toward each other, because that's where they fit the best.

If you're not feeling it, explore to discover what is missing or what is present that rubs you the wrong way. You can address and fill the voids and discover behavioral alternatives that might work better, and that can eliminate the barrier that's preventing you from flowing into this new equilibrium. Never force it if it isn't working, for that will only reduce the likelihood it will work in the future.

You have to both like each other a lot to feel connected.
There has to be a level of comfort and respect between you.
You share private things and start to care about each other. You miss that person when they're away from you and you start to fall in love.
If it's just one-sided obviously that's gonna lead to problems and heartbreak.
