Anyone else ever had someone ghost after almost a year with no warning?

and you know it’s for the best because they were low key no good for you. You know you deserve better but it’s just the unknowing of why they decided to up and drop you like a bad habit? And why does it still hurt so damn bad when deep down you knew it was bound to happen?

Yup happened to me. We weren’t dating or anything. I had a crush on him but we were just in the talking stage as friends. Then he just disappeared.
Then after more than a year he came back. I don’t have any expectations or hoping that we end up in a romantic relationship. I feel like setting expectations makes disappointment greater. I’m just seeing where things go friendship wise.

I think you’re better off without people who ghost you without warning. If they’re immature like that then it can happen again. The best thing is to feel whole as a person for you. No matter what happens In life, you’ll always have your back :)

I think it's because of your expectations or how much time it's been. For me, if I don't really want to talk to someone anymore and I'm just trying to be polite and they stop talking to me I don't feel bad. But if I thought we were at least friends it hurts a lot more. Also it depends on how much time you've spent. More time, more sucky

Yes, and you'd think people our age would be a little more mature and respectful, but nope! What made it even worse for me was she had me totally fooled, I didn't think she was that type of person AT ALL. Shows I didn't know her in any way. A terrific actress.

It sucked for a while but im glad she did it now

The saddest part of it was, I trusted her with a lifelong secret I kept to myself out of fear of being laughed at, and all she did was confirm the fact that I would be laughed at for sharing it.
This is actually the event that caused me to find a site like this where I can remain anonymous and try to find someone who can give me a chance to explain or even someone to relate to. I've been 100% unsuccessful up to this point, and this is why I now believe i know what drove this girl away.

You don't have to apologize, I'm sure it wasn't you. Just based on how sweet you are about it, apologizing on her behalf and all, makes me think that you wouldn't have reacted to me confessing the most embarrassing secret I had never shared like she did.
I had just told her about one of the odd turn ons I have that I was always afraid to tell a girl because I was embarrassed by them. They aren't bad, disgusting, insane or anything like that. Just silly and innocent things that I can't see being something anyone else would like. So the one time I decided to try and share either of them, I was laughed at and ghosted. Basically just reiterating my fears.
