If you found out that your partner was cheating on you, and you didn't want to lose the person, what would you do?

- That's not an easy question too answer, given it's generalized nature, because a person in that situation is obviously in pain, and giving an uninformed response would be irresponsible.
I will say this, though. If he is cheating on you, than he obviously is not as committed to the relationship as you are, and even though it's not my place to tell you to dump him, I should tell you that you have to respect yourself as a person, and recognize that you are deserving of better treatment than that, and that your happiness is important too.
That being said, it may come down to a decision for you to make, on whether this relationship is really good for you in the long term.
From my perspective, it doesn't sound like much of a relationship, if you're committed to him, and he's not committed too you. I do concede that there are probably extenuating circumstances that I am not aware of, but regardless of that, if he's cheating on you, and he is not making an effort too fix his mistake, and show you that he's as committed as you are, than I can't see any scenario in which he's worth your time, or the pain of having to try and hold on to him and keep him in your life.0|00|0Is this still revelant?

- look... if the partner comes out of the blue and tell you that make something horrible and kiss some person in the bar drunk. and is around 20s ok that can be pardon. If you found your partnet was cheating and didn't tell you sh..(inset picture of nicholas cage here).. t, then leave it... cheaters gonna cheat... that is in the nature... cause if confess before alone without you even knowing... means that really is repented... but if you discover... then admit it... sorry... he or she felt no respect for what you had nor remorse on destroying it. sorry you have to stand for yourself , and respect yourself... . you are no ones bi..( insert pictire of nicholas cage).. th.0|00|0Is this still revelant?

- It's really the person's call to decide whether to give them a second chance. I've been in that situation and I gave my boyfriend a second chance - the relationship from there was extremely destructive for me, I was constantly anxious and insecure. He cheated on me again.0|00|0Is this still revelant?
- The minute someone cheats on you you lost them already or more to the point, you never "really" had them... Someone that REALLY loves you wouldn't do that! So love yourself by not putting yourself in the situation for it to happen again, which in most cases it does!0|00|0Is this still revelant?

2037- Sit them down, explain what I think I've seen, heard, or surmised about the supposed cheating, and ask for a straight answer as to "Why?" in one or two short sentences. Long and detailed explanations are CYA bovine patties. As all things in life are relative, age, experience, my behaviour, opportunity, hormone surges, and many other factors will usually provide the causation of the event. If the explanation makes sense, then I hope they enjoyed the faux-pas. Keep your emotions out of your assessment.0|00|0
- Well that's the thing I would go see a doctor and ask ,,, how long am I going to be a fool and acting this way. What's the difference in that happening an them hitting you I can take a punch but fuck with my heart and all the trust I had in you ,,, its ok once I lose respect or trust it's over why would I want to look that person in the eye every day knowing that they played me as a fool and only thought of themselves and would still be doing it if they didn't get cought. Turn around look to your left your right behind you there are real men out there that won't do that to you walk now,, if you don't today you will someday1|10|0
- I’ve had someone cheat on me before. I forgave him and he told me that he would never do it again, he did it multiple times. If you stay with the cheater, you’re telling them this behavior is ok and or, you’re always going to have that thought in the back of your mind if they’ll do it again. It’s just not worth it. Just leave him or her.0|00|0
- My dilemma would be forgive her or not see my son everyday. And if ahe decided to get really vicious she could make it very difficult. She's a foreign national with friends in various countries around the world. I wouldn't imagine she would but if she moved abroad i may only see my kid a few times a year. Would be hard0|00|0
- Find forgiveness. But. on your terms. Warn them or whatever it takes that it is one time deal.. keep the cards in your hands so to speak. Just one guy's thoughts. It ain't gonna be easy either way. Think about yourself, what are your boundaries? Have they been expressed to your partner? If not, clearly tell them what they are, for yourself not them. Good luck! Tricky situation.0|00|0
- I'd pretend I didn't know anything about it, I find the idea pretty hot actually, ideally her lover would have a much bigger dick, lasted longer in bed and was a much better lover than me, I'd try and find some way of suggesting a threesome so I could watch and have sloppy seconds lol,,,0|00|0
- I would. . . want to lose them. . .
But if I didn't want to lose them, then I would be nuts, so maybe I would want to kill them and make them into a mannequin and sleep next to them forever like some crazy horror story.0|00|0 - To continue the search until eventually finding someone new reppace them then forget about the other.0|00|0
- I would talk to a therapist and ask them what is wrong with me if I don't want to lose a POS that clearly has no respect for me.0|00|0
- I would say I have to take a break from you cuz it may hurt now but she needs to get her priorities straight if a girl cheat on me I would ask who so I can go beat the crap out of him cuz obviously the girls not smart enough to stay properly loyal0|00|0
- Dump them.
It would be so difficult and painful to do it but there is no other solution since all my trust in this person would be gone.0|00|0 - If you were worried about losing a cheater you need your head examined.0|00|0
- If my partner was cheating, I would want to lose that person0|00|0

- There's no, "and I didn't want to lose the person." She'll be dead to me and I'll cut her cheating ass out of my life.
The only way I'd keep in contact is if we had kids.0|00|0 - Person is cheating on you..
Yet, you don't want to lose them
Why?
They're literally saying, I don't want you in my life, that's why I'm cheating on you0|00|0 - It was not written nowhere that she has to be mine. So is it was a first-time mistake i forgive n forget but once she does it again n again I kick her out.0|00|0
- Lose them. Sometimes you have to do things you wish you didn't have to do to prevent from having to do something even harder later on.0|00|0
- It would depend on the circumstances. I may give them one chance to turn their life around provided they explained why they did it and be willing to go for couple's counselling.1|00|0
- I would breakup with that person immediately. It is plain stupidity to stay with a cheating person.0|00|0
- Confront them and if the other person that they're cheating with knows you two are together beat their ass0|00|0
Never blame the other person. The person you are with shouldn't have betrayed your trust. Plus, you don't know if the other person knows about you.
It's the cheaters fault not the person they're cheating with, so why would you blame them? If they didn't cheat with them it would be a different person anyways. the main problem is the cheater, so focus on them.
- Them choosing to cheat on me shows me how they feel about me. So idgaf about losing them cuz they don't care about losing me. Im leaving his ass0|00|0
- I would break up, no matter what.
I'd never forgive myself if I'd take him back. Also, probably he would cheat again.0|00|0 - Anonymous17 dI have more respect for someone who accepts a hall pass, than a person who cheats.0|00|0

- Lost you on the second scale of the question.
I would consider them garbage and leave.
I don't forgive betrayal.1|00|0 - Anonymous19 dSome pretend they know nothing and carry on in the relationship.
Others confront their partner, try to work through it, and find a way to a better future together.
Others still split up and find their happiness elsewhere.1|00|0 - That's not a problem because once they cheat they are gone. I can forgive almost anything else, but cheating is an instant death to the relationship.0|10|0
- I would WANT to lose her, and I would make sure I did.0|00|0
- They lost me the moment they cheated. As much as I'd want to keep them I'd have to let them go.0|00|0

- It’s a difficult decision but if you stay he might feel it’s ok for him to stray again. So I would move on1|00|0
- Its not easy but what I did was walked away... later he came apologizing to me saying he wanted me to forgive him and asked me to get back with him... I forgave him and walked away again lol1|00|0
