I sincerely believe that you should listen to reason and remain with your mother. I don't know if you live with your mother or not.

If you live with her, then her home is the safest place to be right now. You don't want to start taking risks with this pandemic getting worse and worse. Yes, there is a vaccine available but just because it is available, people believe that they can do whatever they want and meet new people left and right.

Be wise and stay safely at home with your mom. Your boyfriend is not going anywhere and if he does, he is the wrong one for you.

You can reconsider your decision next year when this pandemic has lost part of its virulence. Your mom will understand that you are starting to become independent and that you have a life of your own to live too, just like her parents had to accept that fact as well.

It sounds like you are your mom's life and she is yours. Rather than create a life for herself, she chooses to treat you like her puppet, and you go along with it. How many more decades do you plan on continuing this co-dependent arrangement? In healthy parent/child relationships, the parent is happy when a child grows to a new level. She seems to want to hold you down either for her own selfish reasons, or she fears she didn't prepare you to think for yourself and stand on your own two feet, so she fears the consequences of setting you free.

I understand this is not the year to go out and party (due to the pandemic), but that doesn't mean you can't tell her you want to invite your boyfriend over to share in the family evening. If you don't show her you can stand up for yourself, she'll continue to keep you under her thumb.
