How long did you talk to and get to know your current partner before making it official?

My current partner and I were friends initially before it became romantic. During the time that we were just friends, we initially were only seeing each other two or three times a month with occasional electronic communication in between. Over time that became more frequent and as we started spending more time together, we realized how much we liked being together and after a while the relationship became romantic. We never had a discussion about being "official" and it's hard to pinpoint an exact date when that happened so it's hard to answer for my current partner.

In previous relationships that went straight from meeting to being romantic, the time until we considered ourselves a couple varied from a few weeks to maybe 8 months. I don't know if the contact was every day during that time but if I remember correctly it was pretty frequent in all cases.

But this year we got closer and he started flirting with me, and then we tried a couple dates and a month later we were dating
