What is he hiding or wanting to hide. He wasn't very fond of the idea that I told my family about his existence. He rarely shares details about his personal life. Should I be worried?

That’s definitely a red flag in my book. The only reason you would be a secret is because he’s got someone on the side or if he’s ashamed of you. A secret is thrilling because of what might happen if you get caught.. You don’t deserve to be treated like that.
