Why would a partner copy you?

My boyfriend does this a lot. Not just with little things I say or pet names, he will copy presents that I buy him like a mug (he went and bought me a similar one less than a week later).

I don’t really know why he’s doing this

It’s a psychological thing called mirroring ITS A GOOD THING. When someone mirrors u that means they are interested in the conversation or overall you so it’s a rlly good sign. I do it a lot with my boyfriend n he does the same it jus how it is :3.

Except for the mug I would say he does something called "mirroring" where he subconsciously copies loved ones behaviour.
