People always say that when it’s love you will know and you won’t have to question it. Is this always true or could someone just not know what love is? 🤷♀️

That all depends on how you define love. Love is not something that just happens; it is something two people choose to create and nurture over time. One-sided love will never be functional over time. If you're observant, you'll be able to see when love is working and when it isn't. The main problem is people who insist they are in love and want to hold onto dysfunctional relationships. That isn't true love. True love is always mutual, functional and beautiful. It is filled with clear, open, honest communication and both are considerate of the other and are active equal participants in their team effort. Never expect true love from someone who is self-centered, an addict of any kind, people who feel entitled to push their agenda onto others, people who feel entitled to receive more than they bring to the relationship, people who focus on what they expect to get out of a relationship more than what they add to the relationship, people who focus on the words and actions of others rather than the impact of their own words and actions, people who prioritize being heard over hearing others, and people who don't understand the greatest joy a person will ever experience is sharing in a partner's joy.
