If you don't like something that someone cooked for you, would you still eat to not hurt their feelings?

Question

In my case it's not that I don't like the meals that cooperative girl makes for us both, it's just that I tend to skip meals and don't really like eating.
I've told her it's not necessary to make food for me, but she says she always does too much so she insists for me to eat. So I eat to not look like an assh*le, but I noticed I've started to fatten up.

Probably if it was bad that will be only time i would eat that.

As a cook myself & as I've got a exquisite taste for food. I don't think I'm keep my mouth shut if it's bad I'm going to say it in a way it's going to give insight on what to improve.

And NO i will never keep my mout shut about bad tasting food.

Either learn to cook or don't bother at all.

Food is life so it needs love and attention when you are making it.

If you are skinny eat. But don't go overeating. Stick to a healthy regime.

And have a conversation with that girl about overcooking to much.

My wife used to cook to much in the beginning. Some tasted good some bad so i had a talk with her about it. We did reach to a decision to take shits on cooking and not to make to much, because i tend to visit up to few restaurants trough the day because of work. And i don't want to have food trown away.

But due pandemic that changed so for now I'm cooking as I'm working from home and the reason is I'm a better cook and she acknowledges this.

But you dont have to eat everything. Eat what you want its ok to skip meals sometimes if you dont really like to eat. Just tell im not going to eat im not hungry.

For different peopld its different solutions. 1. Peope I dont know (aquaintances) i eat as much as i can, if i dont have to dine with them i will not eat it. I'll also avoid allowing them to give me food.

2. Someone close (boyfriend or friend) or family member - i explain what needs to be added or taken away, or i just say it didn't taste good.

3. Someone I've just started dating like a really NEW relationship- I lie... I am sorry i just dont know how they would handle the criticism.

If i dont feel like eating what they’re cooking i just ask for a really small plate and say I’m not that hungry or that i ate early a big meal and I’m still full from it, or that I’m not feeling too well so a small plate would be great.

I dont want them to feel bad or offended so i try to eat it.

Depends on what it is-- I have dietary restrictions. But if it was just something I didn't care for, I'd probably eat in anyway. In the future, I'd just mention about not enjoying that type of food or recipe.
