How can you fix dating problems when people are going to do what they want to do anyway?

Become observant and learn the signs to look out for. Most people are disappointed due to seeing only what they want to see and being oblivious of reality. For the most part, we create the results, as we're the ones making the decisions. Choose wisely.

There's no problem with your standards, but associate with people who share your standards rather than expect people to conform to your standards. Not every standard works for every person, no matter how much you may believe you are right and everyone else is wrong. They are just as likely to believe they are right as you are.

People are going to do what they want to do, just like you'll do what you want to do. Is it our place to tell others what they should or shouldn't do? Before saying or doing anything, ask yourself whether you'd appreciate being on the receiving end of what you plan (ie they'll be pushing their agenda onto you, like you plan on pushing your agenda onto them). If you wouldn't appreciate it, come up with a more considerate option.

I agree you can't force someone to marry you, but who would truly want someone to be there against their wishes, unless they were self-centered abusive people? See things for what they are, rather than what we believe should be, and it will be easier to connect with compatible partners.
