Okay to stop in and surprise him?

Today is my boyfriend and I’s 8 year anniversary. I was just at his house yesterday, but we normally celebrate anniversaries together. I was thinking about getting/making a small surprise and bringing it to him. Would this be okay or would it be considered rude to just show up? Thanks in advance!
