Yes, you should inform him. Both he and the child are entitled to know. You don't have to have a relationship with him, but your child should be allowed to make that decision for themselves.

I am not a lawyer, but legally I believe he is entitled to know, and he is entitled to visitation and joint custody. The child is entitled to support from him.

My advice: inform him, file for support. If you don't need the money, just put in an account held in trust for the child when they turn 18.
