Do we have to buy a gift for our valentine on Valentine's day and celebrate Valentine's day?

Can you? Sure! Do you have to? Absolutely not. That's not a requirement to be with someone!
And before anyone downvotes me, think about it: if someone really loves and cares about you, why do you need to spoil them once a year on a particular holiday? You do so throughout the year, or hell, as much as possible. Even when I was in relationships, I used to spoil my exes... not just on vday, but whenever I felt like it.
If you need a holiday to justify buying your partner a gift, you're doing something very wrong.

If it matters to your SO then do what you need to do to make them happy.
If they're already happy, then it should be easy. Write them a note and feed them. if you've been in a rough patch, this is the best way to get back in their favor.
I know capitalism is bad, blah blah, but sometimes having a cheat code (yes throw money at something) will keep you in the black.
I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s a ridiculous holiday in my opinion. Makes those who are single and don’t want to be feel like shit. And makes those who are single and want to be think it’s pathetic. Why do we need a day dedicated to being in a relationship when those who are in a relationship should be doing this bs on the daily? It’s ridiculous and a waste of a holiday. Pathetic

You don't have to.
Valentines day is more about just expressing your love for your partner I don't really think it matters how you do it. I think that just depends on your partner. Some girls like cheesy romantic stuff, or stuff like the love fort and others like gifts or a nice dinner, etc.
Express your love, affection, etc for your partner how you want to.

I don't get people a card for their birthday (mass marketed that which is a complete waste of time, money and a stamp) so I wouldn't feel a need to give a gift. I tend to see things which make me think of someone and would buy it randomly and gift it sometime, if this coincides with a specific date, so much the better.

No one says you have to, but if you have a partner, best to make sure you're both on the same page about it so there's no misunderstandings about your stance. (i. e. your partner gets you something and feels hurt that their gesture isn't reciprocated because they didn't know you would rather not participate in the whole thing beforehand)
Nope me and my boyfriend do not celebrate Valentine’s Day. We do not believe in Pagan holidays and we also believe in treating your partner should be an everyday thing

I mean you don’t HAVE to but it it’s a nice way to let the other person know that you care and are thinking about them. If you don’t have much income something homemade is really sweet as well.

You can if you want. I only celebrated it a few times. I don't care for it anymore.
