Is not being trusted enough reason to break up?

I just overheard a conversation where my boyfriend and his friend are saying I've passed all the tests they've tried on me. They were trying to see if I was a golddigger and a potential cheater.

I'm on the verge of considering breaking up base on the sole purpose on not being trusted after 3 years. I feel insulted as both a woman and person. Even if you pass, would this still be a good reason to break up?

Now I don't think I even want to have kids with someone that's childish, that plays games, that doesn't trust me, that had to test me.

That's up to you.
I do believe that trust is earned and not just given, but I wouldn't be creating tests for anyone to pass that is a bit much in my opinion. I would just be paying attention to her actions myself. It's cool that you passed though, hopefully he's as good to you.

I would think 3 years is enough time for trust to be earned. If after all this time, you don't know whether you see a future with them, have doubts or have to test them, then it's pointless continuing the relationship. What's the point of a relationship without trust?

Well, I was with a woman for 15 years who ended up shady. It happens, people change. The important thing in a relationship is to enjoy each other in the moment, and be a good team while raising your children. Other than that anything can happen.
A person can be good in some ways, but end up bad in others. Long relationships are challenging and people aren't perfect. You can never really control what your partner will do so the concept of trust is almost an illusion. The best you can do is love them, pay attention for red flags and take care of yourself.
