You posted a gif of someone drinking when Islam forbids drinking. Hmm, I guess getting drunk, causing accidents and hurting others under the influence of alcohol is cool... apparently.
@Asad1ONE1 Sorry I couldn't help it. I am not against any religion for real, but these kind of posts seem more in line with proselytism than a simple "MyTake"
Life is short, as you've heard countless times throughout your life. If you can take the time to study the Holy Qur'an, you will open up another dimension of wisdom.
In Shi'a Islam, it is understood that images are not for idolatry which is why you'll see many images of holy figures like Imams such as Imam Hussein, Imam Jaffar as Sadiq, or Imam Hassan, and other prophets displayed in countries like Iraq and Iran. Sunnis, especially those of the Salafi jurisprudence, think this is absolutely idolatry and believe it will lead to Hell Fire. They even go as far as saying that drawing people in a sketch book is "haram".
I find it interesting that many of your viewpoints line up with the Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Basically it's Islam, minus Muhammad. We don't believe in the trinity either, that's a Western Christian thing.

Which of my viewpoints do match the Eastern orthodox Christianity and which doesn't? What do they believe in, if they don't believe in the trinity?
Well we believe that Jesus was inferior to God, for one thing. The muslim view on gender roles is largely identical, treating women as equals (even as more important than men in some respects). The Alcohol and Pork thing is a little bit different, but you even see in the Bible that it's not like Jesus was eating Pork (at all) or over consuming alcohol, it's all about moderation.
The Pillars and 10 Commandments quite similar as well, but the Commandments are supposed to be God's direct message to people. while the Pillars are more like the building blocks to maintaining a Muslim society. The big thing you need to understand about Islam vs Christianity is that Islam is a form of government mixed with religious ideas, while Christianity rejects the establishment. It all boils down to what appeals to you the most.
In my honest opinion, all of this completely misses the best reason, and only legitimate reason to believe in it. That would be because there is enough solid evidence of it matching reality. I see a lot of claims in that - but no evidence of said claims.
I believe that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are servants of God but are not gods themselves. Jesus communicated with God, he never claimed to be God himself. Jesus is called the son of God.
1 Timothy 2:5
"For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
Isaiah 44:6
"Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me."
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy unless God did some magic and had another person come out of himself or God reproduced with himself how can Jesus be the one and only God if God gave up his only begotten son who is Jesus.
Islam was spread by the sword. Muhammad was a warlord and he killed many innocents. Before anyone brings up the crusades, the crusades were a response to Islamic invasion.
Islam wasn't spread by sword. This is only what the media says and what they want you to believe. If what you say is true, then how come there are some verses in the Quran that Allah SWT forbids the belivers to fight. Read the following verses carefully: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly" 60:8 "Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers." 60:9
@DawnRising islam was spread by the sword. Muhammad wrote the quran and he murdered and massacred his way across the middle east where he spread his new religion
@lord_chilled Islam wasn't spread by the sword. Nowhere in the Quran does it say it was spread by the sword. Yes, they fought wars in the name of Allah but that was because they had to. War was a common thing back then.
@lord_chilled It wasn't an excuse. A lot of things instigated wars, mainly the way people treated Islam and the prophet. The prophet didn't even fight for a number of years until he got a revelation giving him the go ahead.
@lord_chilled prophet Muhammad PBUH didn't write the Quran. God said in the Quran "(17:88) Declare this, "Even if human beings and jinns should cooperate with one another to bring forth a book like the Qur'an, they will never be able to bring anything like it, even though all of them help one another"
Do you two not see the irony of what you are saying?
@lovelyhoneybones " A lot of things instigated wars, mainly the way people treated Islam and the prophet" - do you think that people are just gonna accept someone when they declare themselves as a prophet? They crucified jesus for that. But your prophet's solution was to massacre the opponents and establish islam by force. And then make the other religious people pay jizya in order to be allowed to live. Very peaceful of him.
@DawnRising God said in the Quran "(17:88) Declare this, "Even if human beings and jinns should cooperate with one another to bring forth a book like the Qur'an, they will never be able to bring anything like it, even though all of them help one another"
And eho do you think wrote that down? God himself? Even if for arguments sake, god wrote the original Quran, who rewrote it? Over all those centuries, who rewrote and published all those qurans? It wad people? And people can always add or remove things.
@lord_chilled Let me explain to you. The Quran was descended upon prophet Muhammad by Angel Gabriel. Prophet Muhammad recited whatever the Angel revealed to him to his companions. Some of them memorized the verses and some of them wrote them down, specially after the prophet's death in the time of Abu bakr the first caliph, Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (one of the greatest companions and the second caliph) suggested to recollect all the verses that was memorized by the companions and that was written and put it in one book. and that's how the first manuscript of the Quran was created.
There's literally no proof nor any hard evidence the Quran was ever of divine origin. And don't you dare bring up scientific miracles which is an oxymoron itself, and almost all those "miracles" were plagiarized from other societies that had such knowledge beforehand.
Hi there i used to be a Muslim and now I am an atheist. I am not going to tell u to convert or not its ur freedom. But this religion is bad in my opinion
I'm sorry but it is your lack of faith, that's why. If you think God is just supposed to give you everything in life and you didn't care to take 1 minute out of your day to thank god for what he provided or if you didn't pray, who's to blame?
@thatguyfromtoronto I will tell you something that might surprise you. I was very religious. Almost radical I memorised most of the Quran by heart. Nine years ago I would never NEVER imagine that I would be an atheist. I always prayed that I would stay a Muslim until the day I die So it was not lack of faith. But really I just started to think differently
I respect your beliefs, but it seems like you are manipulating their holy texts. You mention parts they believe in and then you warp them for what you think it should be.

for me its simple, if a person willingly chooses to convert to islam that person has some serious issues and is unstable.
also dont apply christianity to islam , islam will never measure up. its like comparing sea water to a fresh lake water, both are water, but try drinking the sea one.
I salute you for converting into Islam, don't let anyone change your mind you are free what to believe in don't let others control you, but just a heads up drawings of any prophet is forbidden so you should take it off.

if you're trying to convert or not. you should remove the picture of the 'supposedly' prophet. we aren't allowed to have pictures of him like that around. it's also rude for other muslims.
You're saving yourself and this is awesome. All these people in comments spreading hate I truly feel sorry for them. I see how they are trying to stop you but you know better what is best for yourself. Follow your heart.

By the way what happened did you decide anything? If not , okay.
You are already picking and choosing which bits if Islam you like so what's the point? Can't you contemplate that there is NO god? God stories are fairy tales.
The countless number of responses regarding this subject is dangerously sad indeed. The future of our world seems dark. Very dark. I hope that can be changed before it's too late.

It's called cherry picking. It makes you a shit Muslim in my opinion. Being a shit Muslim is a good thing. Same goes for any ideology with authoritarian or violent rhetoric baked into it.
I prefer to follow the Dao. Once you have mastered the your Dao then you have mastered the universe.

You are willingly thinking of joining a hate group which will always see you as an infidel even if you convert to their system because you were not born into it.

@Asad1ONE1 Thank you but no thank you. I don't find Islam appealing or remotely able to fulfill my life in any way. I just respect others.
Well yes that should be good enough. That's what Islam teaches anyway. And much more.
