The Symbolism of Salt in the Bible - My personal Take on the issue

As a religious study major at U of T in Canada - I encountered one word over and over again when reading any South Asian Religious Paper and it was the word auspicious

I asked a guy I knew with amazing reading comprehension skills what the term meant and his response is the word stands for an event with spiritual significance - He said he had worked in a charity related field for decades and the day he was hired was his birthday which to him was auspicious and a sign its the job he was called by God to do

Me I've been studying the idea of Salt ever since November of 2017 and it is now May 29th of 2020 - this might seem random to you but it is exactly 911 days which is the exact symbol for the world trade towers falling by two airplanes and 911 days is 29 months and 29 days long - in the same way that the year 2020 is a year of proper vision and seeing since people talk about 20/20 vision

So after studying this question for 911 days I've concluded that in the bible Salt is a symbol for sacrifice.

A few days ago I did a survey online for GAG users asking what they thought salt was a symbol of - some said loyalty - some said it was a preservative - I also suggested my own ideas of work or service or humility but you see the idea of sacrifice encompasses most of these ideas

A GAG person indirectly informed me that salt was what the roman soldiers were paid in and in historical times it was more valuable than gold and a form of currency - in the same way - when you work at your job you earn money and the money is used to buy labour from others - the berries you eat were created by farmers and harvesters and truck drives and store stockers - the vehicle you travel in was birthed by a professor who trained an engineer who designed a vehicle who was brought forth by manufacturers and transferred to a dealership where a sales agent talked to somebody who bought the vehicle either for you or by you - so you bought the manual labour of all these middle men when you gave money in exchange for transportation - in this way paying romans with salt is the same way as us paying for sacrifice with income - the sacrifice of the people who keep the economy running

Salt also disappears in your mouth when it touches your wet saliva - in the same way - sacrifice is selfless and loses its own self interest when it is fulfilling its purpose on earth

The sea is 2/3s salt - and 1/3 water and marine life - in the same way - 2/3rds of society are working men and woman and 1/3 are prepubescent asexual children who do not work

You need salt to live - in the same way - we need sacrifice to keep our lives running and the lives of others running

Salt has a pleasant flavour - in the same way - our sacrifices give us character and moral virtues that make us savoury to others both emotionally or mentally or domestically or professionally

Salt is highest in meat - in the same way sacrifice is strongest in acts of physical labour since in the bible meat is often a symbol for some type of physical sacrifice

Salt can be used to add friction to slippery ground - in the same way - sacrifice makes you less prone to make rash decisions - like buying expensive things you can't afford - if you earned the money yourself you will be much more frugal when spending then if a stranger bestowed it on you

The idea of salt as a symbol of sacrifice is also backed up over and over by the bible but I want to write a shorter My Take so I won't go into the biblical use of Salt here

When Jesus said you are the salt of the earth - it means you are the sacrifices of the heart
