I see the truth in what it (Bible/Jesus) conveys about the human condition and the solution. I see value in it in my own life and others and it makes sense in my mind and I use it to be a better person so that I relate to and can positively influence the world around me. Much of the Bible makes sense to me now, it made no sense when I first looked, but I was drawn to what Jesus was saying. I see science mostly supporting it in their theories (e. g. all matter is light, Jesus said we are made of light , etc..) , athough I strive to see commonality not division. I see the truth in what Jesus conveyed about God, the root of which is we emotionally feel separated from God (love)... our belief of separation is shame and other emotions that are low energy... fear, guilt. Those propagate through humanity and do much damage as we are selfish. the human condition as outlined in the Bible is correct in my view, and Jesus was right, just, worthy. I think people who reject just don't understand.I didn't for years, what do I need God for, makes sense, couldn't stand televangilists (still don't like). started at 30 myself, didn't really get it til the last few years. I don't get into theological aspects so much, that doesn't speak to me... e. g. triune God head, virgin birth, genflect the blah blah... oh shut up! I'm fine with it, I just don't dwell on it, not my mind. Just seee what Jesus said, did, wrote... and GenesiOther religions... Muslim, I think I can understand Muslims quite well now, I need to meet and talk to more of them to validate. But I get where they are coming from, their history has some documentation in the Bible which explains the division Jew/Arab. Repairing the wounds... not easy.Hindu - I don't have enough background.Witchcraft, voodoo... what I know, sound like methods of control from wounded people. I don't think these are valid although may have truths in them, but they are not of God... that is of love.Lastly... some people have been hurt by religion.. and we learn as humans survival is highest and so we detest it. We see the tragedy, I met a woman who was sexually assualted in church. She's now a minster... you can find some really messed up people in church, or in any religion. But those acts are not of God (love), they are of sick people who take power over others to outlet their own twisted view based upon their wounded hearts. Trauma propagates so easily through humanity.
I don't believe because God is a contradiction:God is given a free pass for crimes that would severely punish others. How can someone who apparently loves you more than your parents also not only refuse to protect his daughter from rape, or his son from getting murdered, but watch it happen from beginning to end. Can you, as a parent (or future parent) tell me that you could behave that way with your child? Of course not! You'd most likely jump in to try and save them even though you know you might be outmatched. Everyone would agree that you were an unfit parent if you behaved so passively when your child needed you the most. But God gets to gets away with this? The all-powerful God that possesses the one ability humans couldn't acquire even after a million years of struggle (Thy will be done)? That is seriously absurd! If there is a God, he/she/it has as much interest in humans as you or I do in a bacterium on the side of the street.
I believe in God because at the lowest point of my life he was there to pick me up through prayer and fasting I have moved from being the rejected cornerstone to the chief cornerstone. Also if you can feel pain and not see it why not worship a God who helps the helpless, Heal the sick and save the sinners and life changer. A splendid God in all his glory and majesty he is shalom, Jehovah Nissi and a miracle worker Light in the darkness he is the reigning king God of the impossible that's why I believe in him.
Have an opinion?
I don’t believe in a god or gods because I don’t see sufficient evidence to warrant belief
Yet you never wonder about your existence.
@lifetime4u I don’t understand the question. I see sufficient evidence to warrant the belief in my own existence. I don’t see sufficient evidence to warrant the belief in a god or gods. I don’t see the two questions as greatly linked.
It's fair to say your mind is made up on this issue so I will not force my opinion on you.
@lifetime4u I just don’t understand your question. If you’d like to have a discussion I’m willing. I was after all training to be a pastor before I “lost my faith.” That said the argument “I exist therefor god” especially when not explained isn’t really convincing to me.
@lifetime4u what sense does it make to believe in some invisible man in the sky? we exist because of organisms. There is no magical being doing anything yet
They teach u in the bible magic is evil but his whole existence is made off magic
I’ve got a question I’ve been wanting to ask you for a while missy. Is your name Britt’s Slit, or Britt’s (is) Lit. Because I need to know whether I find your name arousing or a cool way of showing you’re proud of yourself 😂😂
😭🤣🤣🤣 so many guys dm me asking me.. its britts litt
Good good thanks for that clarification. Guys creepin in the DMs are always fun 😂
🤣🤣🤣 yeah a guy said,"why would you name yourself something so violent such as slit".
That’s a weird take 😂
Wow. This B blocked me and I had just written a rather verbose response to her question on marriage and happiness. That ticks me off.
Who blocked u
The lifetime gal. She had a question about a recent “study” that claimed marriage lead to decreased happiness for women to which I wrote a very long response talking about the various research on the topic only to find out that I’d been blocked. As this is the only other interaction I know I’ve had with her it appears to be on the basis of this conversation. Which is frustrating because nothing here is/was controversial.
🤣🤣🤦🏼♀️oh gosh well mr cool guy blocked me lol
Eh. People are weird on here
It's common sense man. Anyone that doesn't acknowledge there's a supreme and brilliant creator is a idiot and willfully delusional.I addressed in this Mytake why God exist. Why Athiestism Will Always Remain Far More Less Common Globally. ↗
Yeah but if he exist as stated by the commenter above he's an asshole. who stands by and watches kids get murdered, people die of disease, mental illness? what sick individual does that
Wow. Why would you blaspheme God like that? I can't talk to people who blaspheme God who is holy like that.
Why would he sit there and allow dying children in Africa? No lights in Puerto drug cartels in that's the real question
If he truly exist and if he does exist he's an asshole
Who allows things like this?
Its a heavy reality for me.Im currently working through the depression of digesting that God created evil.In my mind, I accept and understand why it logically had to be done.In my heart, I feel really angry, abandoned, and that God set us up to fail, suffer, die, then suffer in hell, then die completely out of existence.I know God wants my heart, but there's an icy fortress of anger there...
There's zero evidence of God. Most religions make little sense, aren't supported by history, contradict themselves, or are immoral. I'm not opposed to the idea of a God-like being potentially existing, but I don't consider it remotely likely that such a being would judge us all, visit occasionally, care who we fuck, or be interested in whether you believe in him or not.
I see no reason to believe in a god and on top of that many of things in the most popular religious like the idea of hell or that were perfectly designed has been shown to just not be true or in hell's case it's just not practice
@brittslitt did that Hispanic cool guy block you yet the mans a complete snowflake when someone calls out his belief
Besides there being no evidence to support his existence, yet plenty that contradicts holy scripts, I have my doubts. Beyond that, I refuse to believe there exists a omnipotent being who just sits by while kids get cancer/stolen/abused/etc. So if there is a God, then he's quite an asshole. That being said, you really can't prove it one way or another, so spending time debating people is rather pointless lol. That's the one thing I never understood about religious arguments.
Maybe something 'Greater' than us, but not willing to call it a 'God'.Arthur C. Clarke once said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," and by extension, of that, maybe 'God-like'.
I believe in God ! For someone had to have made everyone and everything ! Everyone and everything had to be made by someone ! So I know that the maker of all is God ! He is my heavenly father ! Thanks
I dont believe in any divine entities... its so childish, sheepish and silly.
I do, God spoke of Hitler and Chernobyl long before their time, among other things, and He (Lord Jesus) rose from the dead, need I say more?
And as for those who claim He does not exist, I do not think they are really in a position to claim as much seeing as to how much even humanity's brightest still do not know, to be able to make a claim like that, they would have to know everything in the entire universe right down to the atomic level, every single thing, inside and out, including how it all works.
I do. It is a hope and a reason for living. A reason of our existence and our creation. A life of love and sharing love with others.
Why not its better to believe in something than nothing.
Because I’ve had personal experiences that prove God exists and I don’t believe in chance. The world was created.
It's never been proven that such conditions exist to impose a sky deity ~Mr Bails Extraordinaire
I believe in God and I choose to believe in God considering whether I am right or wrong i feel better knowing my life has a purpose Yes i still have some unanswered questions but life is filled with unanswred questions I am no holy roller but by me accepting God into my life he has guided me in a lot of positive ways to see life through a better light. If ypu choose not to allow God to guide you that is your choice i am not one to judge but from my experiences i know the Devil is. right there waiting to suck you in. Again it's your life and I am not ashamed to say God is in mine.
I don't believe in God because he is not proven.
Believe in god based on personal experiences.
I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ
Is their a mathematical proof or contradiction to his existence? If so I do not know of it, I do believe many things are easier to explain if there is than if there isn't.
not to get into arguments over email, but... I think that's the whole frame to get. Mankind has a logical/science mind to understand what is created and put order to it, and an emotional creative mind to relate. God in my view is that energy... you relate to energy with emotion, not intellect. You can understand it with intellect, but God is relation. that's all. Science is looking for that partical, can't find. Science says all matter is light, Jesus said we are light... kinda same. Science puts order to things, like gravity or eclipse. Once we understand that... whta do we think we need God for... we have the formula! I understand is studying how... not if... some people can predict the future. As such, we don't know everything, and basing what we think upon only what we know as fact, I think you realize is flawed. Looking at the world through an intellect frame is limiting. Try seeing with your heart (emotion).. and then so many of us... humanity... or emotion is distorted from love, our belief limits us. Maybe that sheds light for thought, I know how hard it is to get... we don't use our hearts so much.
you are below asking the question, "why does God allow suffering, he must be a sicko". I used to be there, it's a tough one to answer. I especially wondered... why allow little ones to suffer? I can try to answer it, but I know what I'll run into. The simplistic explanation of the Bible is... we chose it..."knowledge of good and evil", it's a fallen world we are in. I know that doesn't satisfy, but it's basically saying... it was our choice to separate from God and fall into a bad state, think of that as pure state. How much allegory vs factual event that is, who knows. It lines up well... one persons good is anothers evil, we are selfish as heck and think we are separted from God (love), so we act out of our wounds, those fallen emotions... shame, fear, envy spite, pride, guilt. Much destruction comes from those alone. If humanity operated in a better state of emotion, much suffering would be alleviated, not all.
@lightbulb27 No, people are free to do as they like, be it good or evil.
I agree people are free to do good or evil. it is a choice. but there is a problem... we are designed... lets assume here... by God, that is our image is love... this is the energy we want and thrive on. The world conditions us, very quickly, some more than others, into the "fallen" emotions of shame, fear, malice, envy, guilt, greed... selfishness... all rooted in our belief that we are separated from God, that is love. Functioning out of those wounded lower emotions, we will often choose evil. how could we not, it is what we know. the world trains us in it's way not God's way. Those of us who feel the spirit or have had the time to understand and grow can funtion out of good, children often function out of good... not always. So many are trapped, and don't yet have the understanding of why... or die before they have the chance to understand.that's where I'm coming from, hope it sheds some light...
