Is it wrong for a person to have no worries about getting into heaven and think they will automatically get in?

Aren't all people sinners who should be constantly repenting and trying to better themselves? So is this person setting himself up for failure? Yesterday, I had a conversation with someone who says that he never does anything wrong and never does any sins. I felt that was unrealistic and that seeing oneself as perfect seems like having too much pride. What do you think?
