Is it logically sound or unsound to hold the view that there was never a nothing?

It seems to me that if there was never a nothing, then God unbelievers would have a plausible case that He isn't necessary but that is a far cry from providing evidence that His existence is impossible. The problem seems to be how can that ever existing thing have grown into what we have today if It was unguided?
