I hear you. But it’s a book. Did you know there were parts of the Bible edited out by several generations of Christians?
To my understanding, nothing doctrinal has been altered. Anything that was neglected from being apart of the Bible was determined to not be glorifying to God. The Old Testament all lines up and points to Jesus, prophesying His birth, death and resurrection. The New Testament shows the prophecy fulfilled (The Gospel) and how we can deliver the message of the Gospel. Anything removed was determined to be non-contextual.
So you admit the Bible was edited. How can you trust it?
@Nunyabeezwaxxx: I was with you 100 percent at first... But I still will give you a like.OddBeMe %100 the bible has been edited! Many times by many people over the past thousands of years. For instance most Bibles even use God's real name. Which is Yahweh or Jehovah. The replace his name with LORD and garbage like that. And then as far as non-contextual items being taken out. That's what happens when you tell a story. You don't add every single detail or else the message gets blurred you add the nessesary details and then details that back up those details and fact and evidence supporting that. And that's what the bible is and has done. Though people have mistranslated the bible, and people do end up misinterpreting the bible. For instance our good buddy Nunya here said that Satan was trying to get Jesus to reveal that he was God. But Satan would have know that Jesus wasn't God. In fact Satan did know Jesus. And Jesus Knew Satan. Anyway let me explain...Satan in the verse before is trying bro get Jesus to prove to him that he is the son of god. Not God himself. "and said to him “If you are Son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written ‘He will give his angels commands about you, and they will lift you on their hands, for fear you should strike your foot against a stone.""'Jesus then responded. "Said Jesus to him “It is written again ‘You shall not put the Lord your God on trial.’”"Or you shall not test God. Meaning don't do stuff just to see if God will respond or not. This being a reference to deuteronomy 6:16 "You shall not put your God Jehovah on trial, as you did at Massah."
You can see the stark contrast between what Nunya just said the same scripture meant and said as opposed to what the scripture actually meant and said. In fact the reason she believed jesus was God is based off of the idea of the trinity that Jesus is God.. however the bible frequently disproves that idea. Dedicated bible study and research is nessesary to determine the truth of what the bible says.
@NotKrispy Thank you for the correction! I understand what you’re saying and I hope I’m offered a little bit of grace for my error.
Ding! I’m a glutton for punishment :)
I appreciate that and wish all religionists were like you. I just still don’t understand how faith is good. Would you buy a house on faith that the foundation is ok? Or would you make sure?
Faith in God isn’t faith that he’s going to do EVERY little thing for me. I’d have to research the house to the best of my ability to make sure I get my money’s worth (religious or not). You don’t lose anything by believing in a higher being, however.
Granted, but you believe with all your heart there is a higher being on faith alone. No where else in life would you believe anything based solely on faith. You need evidence first.
Evidence for things observable in this physical universe, of course... But even then, the Big Bang is merely a theory that can always be scientifically refuted.
You know a theory in science is a graduation point for research. Don’t put the Big Bang along side your god. One is proven, the other is a story that no one has evidence for.
So the all-knowing God makes himself known only by a book written in a language that He knew would have to be translated in the future. If he was all-knowing, he’d know the phrase “lost in translation”.
His ways are not our ways. We cannot understand anything spiritual with carnal eyes.
Your answer translated: My religion doesn’t hold up to logic so I’ll make up silly rationalizations.
Let me guess you don't troll, Buddhist, Taos, Satanist, Hindus, Witches, or Pagans at all do you.
Those guys aren’t pushing their religions on me. But I do ask some Buddhists and they have better answers than you.

Why would an all knowing god do that?
three options: 1: cause he's dumb. 2: cause he's evil. 3: cause those that claim he exists are lying.
Huh? What law? If god is real he’s playing hide and seek. And he knows what it would take for me to believe. But he chooses to stay hidden.
