Religious ritual?

Do you think religious ritual is a way to communicate with god?
If a prophet do something in behavior then sheeps are those people who copy it to try communicating with god?

I don't believe in rituals or anything that could result in forms of magic such as communicating with god. It's just a way to get people to congregate into groups and thus be manipulated by others.
