Do we have to belong to a sect to be Christians?

Thank you for the comments.
Not everybody follows their religious sect - I disagreed with all of my pastors at least once but I was respected and treated well by most of them cause they decided people were more important than religious differences. Some sects will banish you but most will accept a significantly atypical member so long as you respect their choice to be different from you.
Nope! You don't need to be part of any of those. Being baptized (as a requirement) is a catholic thing.
I personally don't see what Jesus said that would reasonably lead you to believe that for example, unbaptized babies go to hell.
I think it's important to at least start off in a particular sect. Just because it will force you to learn about the Bible some more. But all those things are are different interpretations of the Bible.
No, you must simply accept Jesus as the son of God and the savior of humanity through his many and varied acts.
Im Baptist but none of us really go by the book, so ig i’d just keep it CHristian in general

So for me, whether you're Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, whatever, if you believe in God - even if you don't have all the details right - then you're a believer, and that's all that matters.
Hindus aren't even related at all. (Not saying they're bad people.) Otherwise, I agree to a degree.
@Jamie05rhs i think even with Hinduism, many of their Gods were probably originally Prophets but their memory got distorted over time and people started to think of them as Gods. For example Krishna, many of whose teachings were extremely similar to that of Jesus. It doesn't make sense that God wouldn't send Prophets to all the peoples of the earth, otherwise we wouldn't all have an equal shot at salvation.
If you believe in the message of Christ and try your best to follow His example, then you're a Christian. In that regard, most of mainstream "Christianity" isn't Christian at all.
christianity is a sect xD so you're automaticall in a sect, if you're a christian.
Yes, but thous are not sects, are denominations.
Been part of one of thous you are as well Christian, because is the same God, same holy book but diferent traditions and interpretations.
Protestant. I'm fundamental Christian and stick directly with the Bible only.
I still can't fathom people believing in God, in 2021.
Nope. Christian non denominational.
