  • I'm an atheist. Want to clarify that. Now I want to ask a question:

South Africa has horrendous levels of child rape. The people there mistakenly believe that having sex with a virgin will cure them of aids, so they rape children. Not pre-teens, but toddlers and infants. What, exactly, has Tracie (whoever that is) done to stop that?

Perhaps she donates every cent she doesn't need to live to a shelter to protect these kids. Perhaps she's paying for science classes, or sponsoring as many South African mothers as she can to get out of South Africa, and into a more stable country.

I ask this because she can do all of these things, and claims that if she could stop child rape, she would.

    • If God existed he could do it literally with no effort whatsoever.

    • I don't know whether she is or not. But I do know that God watches it happen all the time and does nothing. I seriously doubt whether Tracie would simply stand by and watch. And even if she did give every penny she had oh, that still wouldn't stop rape from happening. God could stop it, but he doesn't.

    • I am an atheist. Tracie was simply pointing out that if she could stop a rape that she would. Her claim is not self-aggrandizing. Do you really think that if she saw a child being raped that she wouldn't try to stop at? Because God sees it all the time that is if he existed, and he doesn't. The point she was making is that God either doesn't exist or he's just a dick.

  • It depends on other circumstances. If I stop the child from being raped, am I putting myself in harm's way? It takes consideration.

"The atheist experience"? Is that sort of like C-Span but only questions about atheism or something?

Only in America would they need a TV show about this lol

    • The Atheist Experience is a call-in show that mainly takes calls from theists and allows them to make their case or tell their beliefs.

  • I would hope anyone would stop a rape of any kind if they are there, rather than the people these days that seem to just want to pull out their phone and record it.

    • I agree with you. But there are so many Christians, and really people of all different religions, that don't seem to mind that their God doesn't do anything about it.

    • How could he, if you believe in true free will? wouldn't him stopping it, stop free will? if he stopped all the bad things, there would be no free will. Far as I understand they all believe in free will as a test of some sort, have to make good choices to get into heaven. Keep in mind, I would of loved for him to stop my rape, but while he didn't he was definitely there to help me during it and to recover from it.

    • @Aerissa_Jade I'm very sorry that you had to experience that. But free will is irrelevant. Were you exercising your free will? No. So God really doesn't care about Free Will. In fact, he was more concerned about the Free Will of the rapist.

  • I have a love-hate relationship with tracie, but yes, this was one of her best quotes.

  • I understand why some people question the existence of God.

  • No because I believe in a different God than she does. I believe in a God that lets humans have an independent life. We all have to stand before God after this life and take the responsibility of how we lived.

    • The god of the Bible doesn't care about free will. Is the child being raped exercising their free will, or is it the rapists exercising at their free will?

  • I think that's an oversimplification of the God religious people believe in.

  • Oh yes!!

  • Her argument is flawed. For one God doesn't owe anyone especially sinful humans divine protection including children.

#2: This Tracy woman has done bad stuff in her life which at one point she wanted to do yet God let her say and do stuff that directly and indirectly hurt others.

Her free will wasn't violated at all while she did her wickedness whether in the open or behind closed doors in secret.

    • None of your arguments are relevant. 1) No one is talking about anyone owing anyone anything. 2) No one said Tracy hadn't done bad stuff. 3) we're not talking about her free will. Try again?

    • She's comparing herself with God on what she would do if a child is being raped? She's acting as if she's morally superior than a Divine Being who by nature is perfect than this ugly maggot of a woman think she's better than lol. Her arrogance ridiculous..

    • So would you stand by as a child was being raped right in front of you? That's a yes or no question.
