So this is a popular topic these days. Rape, consent, all that good stuff. Let's run down some solid tips for you ladies to help you keep your body intact. In no particular order...
1. Don't date or hang out with bad men.
There are a lot of bad guys out there. And not like "he doesn't do his fair share at work" but bad as in "criminal/violent/a man of wickedness." You want to avoid these men. If a man has a criminal history, especially for violent crime, and/or drug possession, that is especially someone to avoid, as past action is a good indicator of future decisions. If man has participated in violent crime in the past, that is likely not a one time thing, but a character trait/behavior that you will encounter again in the future with him. Police can only do so much about garbage, and if Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders have their way, lighter sentences, or probation instead of prison times, are on their way for criminals. So tip 1. Avoid bad guys! Don't be friends with them or date them! If you are dating a man and he starts talking about violent crime he has participated in in the past, that is also a clear sign to get away from them ASAP. 2. Don't get wasted out in public places. Especially when alone!
When a man or woman gets wasted at a bar or club or party, they lose self control, common sense, physical coordination, and become much more vulnerable to getting into bad situations. Drunk brawling, or becoming victims of crime are also bad. It is quite likely that your local bar or club is safe, but do you want to risk the small chance that there could be evil people in the crowd? And what if there's a celebrity around?
And even if you don't end up in a bad spot, do you want to wake up in some stranger's bed, wanting to die from humiliation because you never would have gotten naked with that person in your right mind? Maybe they were drunk too, but that won't help your embarassment. Or what if you had bad luck and banged someone with STD's?
3.Self defense weapon. Let's be real. There is violent crime. There are monsters out there that by rights should be dead. We try to make pretend that such horrors don't happen in our civilized nations anymore, but it does happen more than it should, and you could run into a monster. And I was going to post a few pictures of crime victims but that was way too horrific for my current mood, so here's a videogame representation of a monster.
The police can only do so much, they can't exactly arrest people then try, convict, and execute them on the spot, at least not legally. If you have bad luck, or end up in a bad part of town, you could be targeted by a violent criminal, male or female. You have to be able to protect yourself if you need to. Consider obtaining a handgun for your home or concealed carry, and learning how to effectively use it. If you are on a lower budget or want something slimmer, knives are both inexpensive, readily available, and can likely be carried concealed without a permit depending on your state. Practice carefully and learn to use it. I would recommend a boot knife as well, as they are inexpensive, easily concealable, and easily accessible in a bad situation. Even if you have complete confidence in your martial arts skills, a weapon is a good buy as long as you learn how to use it. Trust me when I say that even as a oh so "privileged" badass white guy, there have been several occasions where having a weapon was the only thing that kept my heart rate at a semi-normal level. A weapon in good hands can save lives.
So in short! Avoid trash and scumbags! Don't get drunk/wasted in places where bad guys might be around! And lastly, obtain and learn to use a weapon, so that should your luck take a turn to the worse, you can keep your calm and face the danger. Do these things and your odds of becoming a victim to some monstor will go down substantially.
