What the hell is going on with those scientists? No compassion at all? The only thing they are providing us is cancer, pollution and distortion of nature? According to many demonstrators all over the world, yes. It's ok, we have free speech. Everyone should get a chance to agree with me and I'm sure I will get all sorts of amazing opinions from grown up people who demonstrate on the streets, dressed like cows, but until they find a GaG article that represents them, they can read my opinion first.
First things first:
Genetically Modified Food
Genetic modification, is the direct manipulation of an organism's genome using biotechnology. It is a set of technologies used to change the genetic makeup of cells and produce organisms that can, for instance, survive in the cold or have pointy ears like Spock or become big fruits and vegetables.
This is not something new. It is a millennia old practice. When a shepherd makes sure that the goats that produce the most milk give birth to babies that will produce even more milk, he modifies genetically his herd. Same goes to almost everything when it comes to animals and foods. Corn, wheat, cabbage, your Chihuahua, all genetically modified. Since you don't feed yourself only with wild blueberries and wild animals, you eat genetically modified food, since the agricultural revolution in 8,000 BC!
The difference today is that instead of waiting one, two, three years or a few generations to get our desirable results, we can do it in the lab, faster, with control and safety.
So please tell me, WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM you stupid GreenPeace demonstrator? When the farmer with his red cheeks modifies his food by traditional means it's all cool and cute, but when the EVIL scientists show up with their white robes, laboratories and tubes and do the same thing TWICE as good, they intervene in nature and "play the God"? Thanks to genetics we produce varieties that prevent people from starving to death in poor parts of the world. We can produce the same amount of food with less spraying on our fields and the Western World is able to help 3rd world countries with it. And you want us to send all of this to hell because you are afraid that your tomatoes will bite you! I suggest you go and take a shower because you stink like a tobacco factory and then lecture me about food.

But what happens with nuclear energy? This is not about playing with fruits and vegetables! We talk about uranium! Radioactive waste! Three Mile Island! Fucking Chernobyl disaster!!! Do you know how many workers DIED in Chernobyl?!?!
What? Only 49 immediate deaths? But what about the radiation? How many people died from that?
What? An ESTIMATED 4,000 people?
Let's go to Three Mile Island! Do you know how many people died there my man? ZERO!
The American Nuclear Society concluded that average local radiation exposure was equivalent to a........ chest X-ray ?!?! And that's why the USA haven't built a nuclear factory for the past 30 years? For a CHEST X-RAY! Let's compare these numbers with people who died during oil extraction or in the mines ONLY in the USA!

Mechanical body parts
If the combination of machines with the human body, bothers, go and talk to people who lost their legs in accidents or wars, or to your grandpa with his hearing aid device, or to kids with artificial kidneys! Like it or not, those who make experiments to innocent animals, are the same "evil" people who "play the god" and create body parts and medications that can help you to live a few years more when you get old.
Here is an experiment for you: Leave you laser mouse and take one of those older mixes with that metallic ball inside. Let's how many days can you last with it before you throw it on your wall to destroy it.
Most of these things didn't even exist a few decades ago. I'm not talking about some forgotten era. I'm talking about the generations of our grandparents!
