I'm no stranger to sexting and there's a few things everyone should do and avoid doing whether you're sexting your significant other or a complete stranger. I feel like most of these should be common sense even for amateurs but that is not the case for some.

Don't send unwanted nudes or dirty messages

No one wants to be sexually harassed. If your dirty messages are unwanted then accept it and move on.

Don't sext minors

I mean duuh, right? The age of consent might be 16 in a lot of places but teen nudes are still considered child porn. Possession of child pornography is a crime so on and so forth. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

If pictures are involved, show your body not your face

Just to be safe if you're sending dirty pictures leave out your face, tattoos, birthmarks or anything else that can lead to you being identified if they were to be leaked. If you're a nude model or porn star in the making go wild though.

  • All good points. Some of them I've followed as a matter of course. However... now that I think about, why can only nude models and porn stars send pictures with faces? I mean, I'm not ashamed of myself. If someone has a problem with me being naked, that's their problem. I actually like faces on them because as you said, it's not just about the visual/porn aspect of it, but about the intrigue/the person. I've received so many dick pictures, it all starts to look the same to me. I wanna see faces! That's where all the expression lies :)

    • Oh yeah, that one just depends on if you'd freak out if they were to be leaked.

    • Having pictures of yourself naked being found can be "harmful" to many people. For instance, if people you know who are against such things were to find that you show yourself naked, it can ruin your relationship. And that can be just friends, fellow church members, etc. It can also cause problems when looking for work, or needing a security clearance for your job. But if you really don't care if others know, have a stable job, and do not need a security clearance, then it really does not make a big deal for you. If pictures of me were made know to some people, it could cause some problems for me. But I don't see that as such a big deal. I have been on many nude beaches, and I ride naked in the World Naked Bike Rides. I have been photographed nude by many people. No big deal. It sounds like that is basically the same as what you feel about it. And I can understand your interest in seeing the faces as well as the body.

    • @Red_Arrow In terms of job seeking/security clearance, yes. That makes sense. But in my case it would probably be a fellow church member who would take issue with it, and that's a matter of open they are as a person. If someone leaked nudes of me and then someone else takes issue with me for that, it's not worth being friends with them in the first.

    Correct etiquette would be to not send any in the first place.
    Nobody should send nudes and nobody would, not unless they have no shame, dignity, self worth or a sense of privacy.

    How do you politely reject nudes is the real question. Whenever I reject a girl's advances they always gets self conscious and thinks they're unattractive and a slut.
